What is a CSA? What is a CSA? What is a CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Members of the community purchase "shares" of the season's harvest before the growing season. Shareholders pickup up their share of the harvest each week at the designated pickup locations. This arrangement provides the farmer with much needed financial stability at the beginning of the growing season when costs are high and provides the shareholder with the freshest and highest quality produce.

What is a CSA? We attend the following farmers’ markets during the summer season. We have attended the Westford and Pepperell farmers’ markets since their inception and joined the Action Boxbourgh market in its second year. Susan attends all of the farmers’ markets during the season so there will always be someone there to answer your questions about how we grow, what we grow, and ideas and recipes on using the produce we sell. On Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 6:30pm starting June 21th, 2016.

What is a CSA? Both Susan and Frank attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and came away with educations in Economics and Computer Science respectively. After both spending nearly 15 years in the technology sector, they decided to make a drastic career change and go into farming in 2003 and Dragonfly Farms was started. Inspired by growing great tasting, nutritious vegetables for themselves they decided to try to make a living sharing this passion with the community.

What is a CSA? What is a CSA? Q: What is your refund policy? Q: Can I customize my share? Q: What if there is something in my share that I don’t like? A: If there is something in your bag on a given week that you don’t like then you may swap that item out for something else of equal value that is in the swap bin . We come to the pickup with items already in the swap bin so there will be something to swap for even if you are the first person who arrives at the pickup. Q: How will my share be packaged?

What is a CSA? What is a CSA? There are two vegetable share options for the 2016 summer season:. Regular Share - contains enough vegetables to feed a family of four or two vegetarian adults. The credit card price is $576.55, the cash check discounted price is $560. Small Share - contains enough vegetables to feed two adults who only eat vegetables on a light to moderate basis. The credit card price is $396.50, the cash check discounted price is $385. There are no work requirements when joining this CSA.

Sunday, February 27, 2011. February 14th we fired up the heat in the greenhouse and started to sow the onion seeds. We grow onions for early spring harvest, late summer full size bulbs, and new this year a storage variety for the winter CSA. We just finished them on Friday.all 21,500 of them plus 10,000 leeks! Wednesday, March 09, 2011. The Ladies Have Arrived. Yesterday was the big day! We were the last stop of the day so only 600 birds were left on the truck (500 for Pete and 100 for us). After unloading all the birds and a little tour of some equipment at Verrill Farm (Pete is also a farm manager for Verrill Farms) we headed home to unload. We have been picking, eating, canning and saucing our way through our garden GREAT bounty! This year we have made 2 batches (so far) of pasta sauce and we wanted to share our recipe and process with you all! Jars with lids and rings. 30lbs of tomatoes (we use mostly Roma). 1 head of garlic. 1 cup of chopped celery or green peppers (we used peppers). 4 tbsp. parsley. 2 tbsp. pepper. Bring to a boil.

We believe strongly in feeding the soil to produce a healthy plant and spend many of our resources in building up and sustaining organic matter in the soil via various cover crops, organic soil admendments, compost, and crop rotations.
