Architecture art and design in our daily lives. May 4, 2010. Upon research for an existing project I stumbled upon a book that I love. “Haciendas, Spanish Colonial Homes in the US and Mexico”. There was a time when this was what all of the custom home designs were focused on. I think that has changed here a bit, maybe. Or just no one is building homes – Ha! Anyway this wasnt my favorite style but after some time away and looking back I have found a renewed heart for this architecture. Hoover Dam →. Build...

Architecture art and design in our daily lives. June 16, 2010. Architecture at its finest…. Probably Un-American of me but this was my first trip to Hoover Dam. What an amazing feat – and we were lucky enough to be there as the new bridge was almost complete. This bridge is as inspiring and amazing as the dam, the deck is about 1000′ above the water! My stomach quivered just thinking about it. Breathtaking really. I highly recommend a visit if you havent already been – definitely worth the trip.

Architecture art and design in our daily lives. April 1, 2010. As much as I love computers and what the new cad software can do for you, I still find my creativity and inspiration comes from pencil and paper. Ideas tend to flow better off of a pencil than a mouse – at least for me. It’s a matter of scale really. When you draw on the computer you are drawing to within fractions of an inch, my pencil stops /- 10″ or so, so much more flexibility in design. 100 Places To See Before You Die… →. Create a free ...

Architecture art and design in our daily lives. March 1, 2010. Here is a schematic model in progress for a current project. Great to use this technology as part of the design and documentation process. I’m a relatively newcomer to bim software, but I must say I will never go back to that 2d drafting software that has become industry standard. This is definetly the way architecture should be drawn in the 21st century. February 26, 2010. Home sweet home…. February 16, 2010. February 11, 2010. This is one o...
