To Sejong and the Macabees: The End
http://tosejongandthemacabees.blogspot.com/2011/07/end.html
To Sejong and the Macabees. Sunday, July 17, 2011. Sorry for the hiatus. I am now back in the States, as of a little more than a month ago. Sadly, my grandfather (my number one follower), passed away a few days before I left Korea for the States. I was mostly keeping this blog for him, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue posting after that. But I figure I may as well finish it up. My two students at Aewha deaf school - so cute! A professional Korean drumming troupe and got to take lessons from Oh Hy...

Where's Janelle?: Gunslinging
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2013/03/gunslinging.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Tuesday, March 12, 2013. In two more months I will officially be finished with my 2½ years of Peace Corps service. My experiences here in Pohnpei, Micronesia have undoubtedly influenced my perspective of the world (how lofty! And will most definitely stay with me for the rest of my life. Mushy thoughts aside, I have been up to plenty things since the last blog post. Improvising is a way of life here, for sure. Much more significantly…I got accepted int...

http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Thursday, November 22, 2012. M77 Team Pohnpei – you will be dearly missed, not just by me but by all of the lives you have influenced over your two years here. I am so fortunate to have been with you for my own Peace Corps service – I could not have imagined it any other way. I wish you the best in whatever the future holds for you. Natalya and Erin – thanks for the memories that will always bring a smile to my face. Molly and Cori Jo – my girls. We ended up...

Where's Janelle?: Beneath the pale moonlight
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2013/02/beneath-pale-moonlight.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Monday, February 4, 2013. Beneath the pale moonlight. Coming back to Pohnpei this time around was less difficult for me in the sense that I have a specific project I want to complete before I am ready to leave for good. I am pleased with the students I have been able to instruct, the teachers I have been able to work with, the connections (both with locals and with mehn wai. That the MHS library will be sustainable. How am I accomplishing this? Along with th...

Where's Janelle?: April 2013
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Monday, April 22, 2013. It’s a tiny one, but still! I have been packing a lot into my last few weeks here in Pohnpei. School-wise, my computer class is learning how to navigate Microsoft Word (when there is cash power). I also had the guts to speak in Pohnpeian at my final PTA meeting, which turned out pretty well. In the library, students from all levels have been captivated by…American pop culture magazines. Thank you Pennoyer Elementary School 8. I am als...

Where's Janelle?: January 2013
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Monday, January 28, 2013. Before heading off on vacation I spent my last few weeks on Pohnpei wrapping up my classes (juniors wrote outlines and essays, seniors compared the novels they read the past semester and retold Micronesian legends), marveling at the progress of the MHS library (all thanks to the librarian), submitting my graduate school applications (wish me luck! At the only movie theater in the F.S.M. (on opening night, no less! Good food, good fr...

Where's Janelle?: April 2012
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Thursday, April 26, 2012. To clear an area; to cut or pull grass. As part of a community service requirement for the MHS juniors, they recently went to mwet. At a local home. I, as a junior advisor, decided to go with them to supervise their work and help out a bit. It was lots of fun just hanging out with my students and, of course, getting away from school for a day. As a reward for a job well done, my students received sakau. What are YOU looking at?

Where's Janelle?: Sweet Home Chicago
http://wheresjanelle.blogspot.com/2013/08/sweet-home-chicago.html
A blog about my adventures, wherever I may be. Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Better late than never, huh? I don’t even know where to begin, dear reader, it’s been so long! This is entirely my fault, as I let the winds of change sweep me away this past summer without taking the proper time to reflect back on the entirety of my Peace Corps service. And Brad, one of my best buddies in the latter half of my service. I even got the chance to see Brad one last time before he's off to Hawaii - pai mwahu. I got to s...
