Times are Changin'. Submitted by Admin on Wed, 02/25/2015 - 3:07pm. After year of maintaining separate sites for each of the counties in which I have researched my roots, I am now combining all of my collective records into one much larger site called East Coast Genealogy. All of the data that was contained on this site has now been moved to the new site and may be easily accessed there now,. Be sure to book mark the new site as I'm sure it will prove to be a very helpful site as it grows!

I’ll do the rant first, OK? If anyone was going to bet any money on whether I would hear anything back from the PAGenWeb regarding the plagiarism issue with the Chester site, hopefully you held on to your money, as silence reigns from all parties connected with this issue. Plagiarism by a Site That Should Know Better. I first contacted one of the co-coordinators of the Chester site on July 16th, 2014., asking to have the file removed as I have not granted them permission to post it and they were not giving due credit. On the 21st, not having had any response at all, I sent my request a second time. That second request did get a response, a portion of which follows:. Relatives You Don’t Want to Claim. When searching for our long-lost relatives in old books and newspapers, we are usually thrilled to find mention of a familiar surname. Usually. But sometimes we find folks that could possibly be related but, for a number of reasons, we would prefer not to have to acknowledge as relatives. And, then perhaps, we sigh with […]. I’ll do the rant first, OK? UPDATE: Last Monday afternoon, the host provider deleted the file from the Chester site. He had been unavailable for several days and took care of it as soon as he caught up with the email. Of no particular surprise is the fact that neither of the other tow parties from the PAGenWeb have contacted me at all. And a second book that I was also hoping to find was available from Mastof Books in Berks County at an extremely reasonable price! Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL.

Chatting about the joys in doing genealogy research on the East Coast, concentrating mostly on PA, DE, MD and NJ. Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Setting the record straight. Perhaps the most aggravating experience for an active genealogist is to come upon records that are just plain wrong. It may take a fair amount of work to straighten these things out, but it is very satisfying to do so. Residence: Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA. Date: 2 Jul 1793. Prove Date: 21 Nov 1793.
