By not using milk or cream in the cake mix evidently the taste of the chocolate is not diluted… or so I read when doing research for this… and I’d have to agree that the taste test proved this. 1 cup unsweetened cocoa. 1 1/4 cups hot water. 3 cups brown sugar, packed. 2 1/3 cups cake flour (3/4 cup plain flour 2 tb cornflour = 1 cup cake flour). 1 1/2 ts baking soda.
