At Ed Lester Farms we grow 3 basic types of peaches. Clingstone peaches get their name from the characteristic of the peach flesh which sticks or clings tightly to the stone or pit. Although a bit more troublesome to work with, cling types are great for eating, canning, pickling or freezing. They are smaller than Semi-Clings and Freestones. Clings are the first peaches to mature, usually in late May. Our Favorite Freestone Varieties. Our Peaches are available from late May until the very end of July....

Here are a few of our most requested recipes featuring our great, fresh produce! Peach Yum Yum Cake. 1 Yellow Cake Mix. 1 Package Peach Jello (small). 1 Cup Crisco Oil. 1 Cup Ed Lester Farms Peaches, mashed. Mix all ingredients well for several minutes. Blend in Peaches with a spatula and bake in a 13″ x 9″ sheet cake pan for 40-45 minutes a 375 degrees. Baking time may vary. Serve warm with ice cream or just by itself. He build a large log cabin near Flat Bayou which was a navigable tributary of the Red River. This cabin was of typical dogtrot style, made of hand hewn square logs. Due to frequent flooding, this original cabin was moved once and then again to its present location. Subsequent generations added a second story and remodeled the house which today still contains within its walls the hand-hewn logs of the original dogtrot cabin. View more about our history here.
