Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Monday, June 8, 2015. A couple of years ago, I made a nature bag. For Emma. However, I wasn't very happy with the bag - it was a bit floppy - and Olivia didn't have one. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Pastpresentfuture beyond the 365. Keeping to the limits: March 2015

Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Sunday, March 29, 2015. It was a relatively easy way of trying eco-dyeing but I don't think I'll be doing it again any time soon. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Some are made with long triangles of fabric, while the baby wipe one and one of the painted paper beads started off as long rectangles. I blasted the Tyvek beads with a heat gun to give them more texture:. Monday, March 16, 2015. Fabric swap - January 2015 - Gelli plates. Sunday, March 8, 2015. I am exp...

Keeping to the limits: July 2014
http://keepingtothelimits.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Sunday, July 20, 2014. Emma had a little lamb. It's fleece might have been white as snow once upon a time but its fur has greyed over the years, having been much loved and much travelled (Abigail has been to England, France, Switzerland and Italy). But Emma still loves her little lamb. So, when I made a winter "silkie" for Emma, I machine-embroidered a lamb onto it - much to Emma's delight. This photo gives a clearer view of the embroidered lamb:. Olivia...

Keeping to the limits: Tissues and dice
http://keepingtothelimits.blogspot.com/2015/06/tissues-and-dice.html
Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Sunday, June 14, 2015. While my sons are very supportive and encouraging of my textile arts, they show little interest in many of the things I make. However, recently they both asked me to make something for them. Dan also asked me to make a bag for his brother, almost a duplicate of his but with different in the embroidery. What great ideas. Perhaps theyll take more interest in what you do now! June 17, 2015 at 5:51 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Keeping to the limits: Kanzashi Flower Brooches revisited
http://keepingtothelimits.blogspot.com/2015/04/kanzashi-flower-brooches-revisited.html
Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Sunday, April 12, 2015. Kanzashi Flower Brooches revisited. I enjoy making these silk flower brooches - they are very quick to make and don't take much concentration - but I don't often think to make them. However, I recently made these for the Embroiderers' Guild sales table. They proved to be a very effective fund-raiser - they all sold in one day. Labels: Kanzashi flower brooches. Keeping to the limits: September 2014
http://keepingtothelimits.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Keeping to the limits. Adventures in textile arts. Sunday, September 28, 2014. John chose the wool for this jumper but, when I went to make it, I realised that I didn't have enough to make a jumper for him. So I made it up in a smaller size but no-one else in the family wanted it. I eventually found a home for it. Sunday, September 21, 2014. Embroiderers' Guild Annual Exhibition. I also entered this leaf. Back in March, I finished an autumn embroidery. And I saved all the thread snippets, which I then pu...
