Freestyle Homemaking: Pack Meeting Plummet
http://freestylehomemaking.blogspot.com/2015/07/pack-meeting-plummet.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Big sister A went to Daddy's last Cub Scout Pack Meeting this week. A new Cub Master is taking over for him. While he was filling the new guy in, big sister A was playing tag on the stage in the gymnasium. It was pretty dark. She fell off the stage on her face. She seemed fine, but Daddy took her to the ER just to make sure that everything was okay. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Don't Throw That Away! Changing an old monogram. Shaping the Nest: November 2014
http://shapingthenest.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Finished ceilings and new fixtures in the den/kitchen. It feels good we are making some progress in an area of our house that was in bad shape for a long time. We removed the popcorn ceilings and were stuck there for a while. We sanded, primed, and painted the ceiling and painted the walls too. It really motivated us to get it all done once we got the new ceiling fan and light. Here are some before pictures and progress shots. Monday, November 17, 2014. I read an article that ...

Monday, June 30, 2014. Filling a big empty wall on a budget. One of my favorite things to do till fill an empty wall is to do a gallery wall of pictures. As I mentioned last week I had plans to do that behind our sofa. Here are the results:. Obviously, I have a few more frames to fill with prints but I'm happy with the arrangement. And I got the new lamps I needed too. I love them so far. They on sale for much cheaper in the store but I got them here. 3 Find an inspiration picture. 5 Go for a theme.

Freestyle Homemaking: Reuse Recipes: Brown Rice Baby Food
http://freestylehomemaking.blogspot.com/2013/05/reuse-recipes-brown-rice-baby-food.html
Sunday, May 12, 2013. Reuse Recipes: Brown Rice Baby Food. Homemade brown rice baby food. So I did. I ground it up with some oats in my hand grinder. It made a nice fine flour. Then I mixed it with warm breast milk. It seemed grainy so I cooked it and it became nice and thick, just like porridge! Baby S enjoyed it heartily. I had such a hard time getting a clear picture of him. He would not stay still! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Don't Throw That Away! Changing an old monogram. Make It and Love It.

Shaping the Nest: July 2014
http://shapingthenest.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 24, 2014. For a while I've been asking Cam about building a place for me to start some making compost. When we first moved in I was throwing our kitchen scraps etc. in a heap in the woods. It didn't work out to well because it spread out naturally and just blended with the existing soil. We are pretty much always working on a budget so my number on priority was that it be functional and cheap. I had this in mind. Here is the start of the bins. Monday, July 14, 2014. I mentioned in last wee...

Shaping the Nest: Landscaping in the front yard- Part 1
http://shapingthenest.blogspot.com/2015/05/landscaping-in-front-yard-part-1.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Landscaping in the front yard- Part 1. This year, I'm beefing up my landscaping in the front yard. I wanted to continue with my original plan. I added the landscaping right by the door and porch but so far, nothing by the driveway. So I wanted to cut out the herb beds in the front. But I decided the herbs weren't necessary (since I already planted them all out by the garden) and and wanted to incorporate more evergreens and my favorite flowers, peonies. The sod is all in now and ge...

Shaping the Nest: January 2015
http://shapingthenest.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. We finally finished the walls and ceiling in the boys room. It's so much nicer in their room. Pictures don't really do it justice. Their walls were dirrtty! Ahh nice smooth ceiling and clean walls. Friday, January 23, 2015. I've never grown parsnips before until this year and have been really surprised at how hardy they are. I dug up the last few today. Just like all other veggies from a home garden the taste is so much better than the store! Tuesday, January 20, 2015.

Shaping the Nest: September 2014
http://shapingthenest.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 12, 2014. A Furniture Makeover with Oil Based Paint. We've had this dresser sitting in our storage room for a while because I didn't have a place for it. It was given to us and in our old house it was in my painting room. So you can imagine it was pretty beat up. I already started to patch things but here is roughly what it looked like before. Once you go over an area resist the urge to go back in the same painting session and touch up a spot. It will leave the brush strokes. Cucumbers ...

Freestyle Homemaking: Reuse Recipe: Cracker crumbs, cookie crumbs, cake crumbs
http://freestylehomemaking.blogspot.com/2013/05/reuse-recipe-cracker-crumbs-cookie.html
Thursday, May 23, 2013. Reuse Recipe: Cracker crumbs, cookie crumbs, cake crumbs. This post is about never buying a package of graham cracker crumbs or pre-made graham cracker pie crust again. Have you ever noticed that pile of crumbs at the bottom of your package of saltines and felt a twinge of regret at throwing it away? Or had the last 1/3 of a package of cookies, cakes, or pretzels, go so stale that no one wants to eat it? Here is how that came together:. Half a package of cream cheese. Zest and jui...
