How many times have we heard great horsemen talk about horses wanting safety and comfort? Most recently I've heard Buck Brannaman. Talking about horses wanting peace. And comfort more than anything else. Certainly we can cause our horses even more unrest and fear than they would have innately. When I think about it though, maybe horses are not designed to be completely composed...

Now if the heat is not bad enough, I have for the first time in my life , poison ivy, ring worm, you heard me, ring worm and my ankles are almost raw from scratching as a result of being bit by chiggers! What in the world are chiggers! Tell me, why why why do we have ticks, snakes, horse flies and now chiggers, I see no good in any of theses and I want to know why! Bored vs. Tuned Out. I know Linda Parelli talks about horses being bored but I'm not sure if I buy it. Cricket spends her day nibbling grass, napping and swishing her tail at flies. How is it possible to be more boring that? So what is it? I don't know the answer. I just don't believe my horse is bored.
