Thursday, October 8, 2009. The woman in the photograph is a stranger and a stranger to the photographer himself, Roark Johnson. He took this picture as part of a project that he called " Stranger A Day. He would, starting January 1st 2004, find someone he did not know and take their picture every day until December 31st, 2004, the last day of the year for his project. Some days he chose to photograph people outside, inside, older men and older women and children with an older camera.

Thursday, December 3, 2009. WP3: Statement of Purpose. The sculpture could relate to many different people around the world such as those who have been a part of the violence, those who have witnessed it and those who know of someone or have relation to a woman being part of the violence. The audience could have different types of emotions when thinking about this sculpture, perhaps relating to an event that reflects violence evoking itself through pathos. Sunday, November 29, 2009.

She has the expression of a learned woman, a wise woman and one that has been in a relationship or two in her lifetime as of yet. She is an American woman, set in Chicago, Illinois, in the heart of the proud Midwest. Thursday, October 1, 2009. The photo that I chose was taken by Roark Johnson. Johnson, Roark. Saturday, October 17, 2009. The writing process for WP1 was a very long and tedious process. The first thing I had to do was to pick out my photograph from a slew of different choices. It took me a while, and I narrowed it down to a couple of photographs. Then I took these photographs and gave each one a solid look. I asked myself if I could relate to this photograph in any way, and does this photograph initiate any type of emotion in me. The reason I chose this photograph is very simple. After hearing t...

Sunday, October 4, 2009. Blog #10: Statement of Purpose. When this picture was taken can lead to many interesting assumptions about the picture and its subject matter. Along with the elements of the picture I have selected, I need to consider my audience, as well as the context for this writing assignment in order to construct an effective paper. Along with writing into my blog post. This can prove to be a useful tool in forming an effective argument. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

It had something that I could connect with personally. I remember hearing things about Dick Cheney and the torture. At this moment we can only assume what is going through the mind of Dick Cheney. I was sure to include how I was going to go about composing my letter. I wanted to be very clear in my statement of purpose, stating how this project is different from the others and how I need to keep this in mind throughout the writing process. When I first laid eyes on the sculpture I was worried. Rhetoric as Argument :. Monday, December 14. WP3 : Final Draft. In conducting research on the sculpture itself, I found little information about the artist, and even less information about the object. In a personal letter format? This is supported by my observation that "When viewed through certain rhetorical lenses, we are able to determine that there is a unifying concept that all possible argument can be represented by: change is both inevitable." I paired this concept with my investigation of the...
