History of our service. Aims of our service. Improve the quality of life for adults with severe and enduring mental illness through access to a full CAB Service; providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice for people who due to their illness are inhibited from using ordinary CAB services. Obtain additional and appropriate benefits for the clients, to assist independence. Manage and reduce the debt burden of clients. MESMHO is a project of Epsom and Ewell Citizens Advice Bureau.

MESMHO the Mid and East Surrey Mental Health Outreach advice project

Our specialised advice service is designed to help people with severe and enduring mental illness in the Surrey boroughs of:. The service is aimed at those who are unable as a result of their illness to visit or telephone their local Citizens Advice Bureau in the normal way. We are based in Epsom but our staff will be able to see clients at convenient locations across all the four boroughs that we cover. See our Contact. At any one time we are supporting over 100 clients who suffer from severe and enduring mental illness, and who need advice and advocacy on problems that significantly affect their lives. Clients' issues are generally welfare benefit and debt related with some housing, employment and legal issues. We conduct regular client and referrer surveys to gather feedback on our service and to evaluate outcomes. In September 2013 we were able to expand our service with the aid of funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
