EL Konigsburg passed away last month. Maybe you already knew that. Maybe you've no idea what I'm talking about. I hope the name sparks something in you. I hope you'll keep reading anyway. I feel there should be headlines and national readings of her work but, alas, an extraordinary storyteller has died, and I feel it is the saddest secret. For the Washington Post, "knowledge is worth possessing, even when it's not publicized, even when it's not Tweeted. It carries its own inherent worth.". Mallory was ri...

You guys I don't even like exclamation points okay this is for serious frenzy-feels only and if TWO YEARS' PATIENCE doesn't deserve a little extra punctuation then really I don't know what does. ALIVE SHERLOCK! Um Anyway. My. Post-its, full-on letters, a dozen different languages, hashtags, QR codes, entire comics. And one favourite touch? On top of the telephone someone had left a full supply of loose paper, pens, and scotch tape for the unprepared. Fandom people are my favorite people.

An oak crown for october. I learned a few years ago but not quickly that when it comes to museums, you can't do it all. It feels necessary, I know: millennia of world history! Masterpieces of impossible import! The actual bullet that killed Abraham Lincoln! For a good half of my life so far I entered every museum with an endless To Do list, determined to see and love and appreciate. This is terribly important) every. last. thing., all in the name of Knowledge and Culture. Case in point: me, math. British...

My Summer So Far, In Reading | Ms. Grammarian
https://msgrammarian.com/2014/08/06/my-summer-so-far-in-reading
Books, bookishness, and life in general. My Summer So Far, In Reading. But on the bright side, with all that airport and airplane time, I read six books! And I’m glad I scrapped it. “Kill your darlings” is what people who know say about writing, and in this case my darlings were allusions to Robert Frost poems. Thankfulness is a much better use of my time (when compared to melodramatic dread, not allusions to Robert Frost — poetry is never a waste of time). No Fond Return of Love. The Death of Bees.

Books, bookishness, and life in general. Author Archives: ms.grammarian. Reflections on My 2015 In Reading. At the beginning of last year, I resolved to read 40 books in 2015, largely the result of having failed in the previous year to do just that. Anyone who knows me well will probably tell you I can be quite driven when I feel so inclined (particularly when I feel I have previously failed to achieve something). You’re reading at an even pace throughout the year. Reader, I did it. Poor choices like fin...

CHARDO • A Mission: A Korean Week!
http://richardfetzer.blogspot.com/2012/07/a-korean-week.html
July 30, 2012. On Wednesday night we helped run the missionary English class. In a recently revamped class, we have invited all people that want to learn English to the same class. So it kind of forces the students to learn and converse in English instead of all speaking the same language together. It seems to be effective to find new people to teach because it brings people to us. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Elder Richard Clark Fetzer. 10675 NE 20th St. Bellevue, WA 98004. Gordon B. Hinckley.

Currently Earth supports seven billion people, numbers rising. As a result, every planetary resource is either being plundered or polluted. What resources remain are not being used efficiently, nor are they being distributed fairly. All human dilemmas are either caused by, or subordinate to, this one simple reality. It is my intent to offer alternatives to a life style of needless consumption, and expose the menace of the one percenters, who want to control us all.
