Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Finding a Healthy Balance between Competition. It has been 8 weeks since running my 2:29:38 marathon in Rotterdam, which gave me the standard. In the downtime after Ottawa, life was busy at home. The day after my return, Jonathan left for a week of work. Then I left for Calgary, the day after his return. Talk about two ships passing in the night! I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Calgary, providing the national half marathon broadcast for athleticscanada.tv. Saucony Video - Mar...

Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Set Back Day at Montreal General - Another Day . in a New Office. So I successfully timed my toilet trips and pain meds, which allowed me to get 3 2.5 hrs sleep last night. Krista DuChene Running: June 2014

Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Sometimes you have to look back to look forward. June 15, 2014. It has been seven weeks since my femur fracture and I continue to progress in leaps and bounds. I've had many people contact me with their stories and the one thing I continue to believe and apply, in many areas of life, is to remain positive and not compare myself to others. Although possibly similar, every situation is unique. I choose to disregard the negatives and focus on the greater steps to come. I guess I coul...

Monday, December 15, 2014. Mommy, please don't break your leg.". And we waited, carefully and steadily doing a bit more each and every day: walk/jog to running, cross training, weekly physio and massage treatments, orthopaedic appointments, and daily at-home routines. My rehab plan slowly but surely grew and transitioned back to my full-time training plan. And on November 8, my plan included competing again, just over 6 months from my femur fracture. Race, for the first time. Again, another shorter d...
