EU and I - Slovenia. By Mirna Peč Primary School. 1 THE ALPINE REGION. Is the most famous lake in Slovenia. It's only about 2 km long and 1 km wide. On the middle of the lake there is the only natural island in our country. You can visit the island by a special boat - pletna. Is the one of the oldest parks in Europe. It is a great place to hike in the summer. You can find seven small lakes there. Is the most famous and greatest waterfall in Slovenia. It was a great inspiration for our romantic poets.
