Food...and Other Things: August 2008

http://foodandotherthings.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Long Time No Blogging. Well, I started this blog a couple of years ago intending to actually post on a regular basis, but obviously that hasn't happened. Anyway, I'm going to start posting here again, hopefully more often than not. I'll also be adding pictures to the blog within the next day or so. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Food...and Other Things: More Coffee...

http://foodandotherthings.blogspot.com/2005/10/more-coffee.html

Thursday, October 20, 2005. So still no digital camera yet. I'll have to bug my sister about it, but hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on it in the near future. That said, I'm going to talk about one of my favorite topics that doesn't require pictures (although they would be cool): coffee. The group brews a variety of coffee types, though some favorites seem to be Starbucks' Gold Coast Blend and Starbucks' Sumatra. Unfortunately, the Gold Coast Blend isn't that great. The Sumatra was actuall...Glori...

Food...and Other Things: Robusta vs. Arabica...

http://foodandotherthings.blogspot.com/2006/02/robusta-vs-arabica.html

Thursday, February 02, 2006. Robusta vs. Arabica. I found this article. Online today. Interesting topic, as I always assumed that robusta beans always produced inferior coffee to arabica beans. Admittedly, my opinions is that of someone who has read (mostly) read articles in food magazines and from sources such as Peet's, Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Food...and Other Things: Belated Cookie Recipe

http://foodandotherthings.blogspot.com/2006/01/belated-cookie-recipe.html

Friday, January 06, 2006. Well, now that I've returned from the almost dead I have a couple of recipes to post. The first one is the classic "snowball cookie." I know that they show up on cookie platters everywhere around the holidays, but I figured I'd post this one here just because my family has been making them my entire life. 2 cups of flour. 2 sticks of unsalted butter (1 cup). 2 cups of chopped pecans or walnuts. 1/4 cup of sugar. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. Makes about 48 small cookies. In the next instal...

Food...and Other Things: Coffee News

http://foodandotherthings.blogspot.com/2005/12/coffee-news.html

Friday, December 02, 2005. Looks like Peet's roasting center is moving. Check out the press release below. Not sure how this will affect the company, but hopefully it'll mean some interesting blends of coffee. It's also a sign of the company's financial health, which is a good thing because Peet's produces pretty decent coffee overall. Peet's Coffee and Tea, Inc. to Build New Roasting Facility in Alameda, California. Tuesday November 29, 4:00 pm ET. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Food Blogs and More.

Ghetto FOBulous: January 2006

Monday, January 30, 2006. You're so not money! I'm the asshole in the place yeah? Yeah, well I'm outta here. I would never eat here, I would never eat here anyway." -Trent, Swingers. And that pretty much summarizes my weekend. The usual night with the bros turns into an anger/death threats boozefest. And who's the one yelling out obscenities? Yup, this asshole! And if you're one of the guys who had to put up with my crap recently. My apologies. It won't happen again. Posted by Ghetto FOBulous @ 11:29 AM.

Tuesday, October 24, 2006. The Gospel, according to FOB. A letter to the FOBilius from the Haterians,. For God will not have you be a caddish whore. As so, the FOBilius responded,. And why, one free of the chains of female bondage is cast down as a donkey do'er? For insult me do I not cry? Cut me do I not bleed? Be cast back to how nature intended and not be tied to the bonds of man. For I will not be tied down by a woman until thou bringeth, and return my rib which was stolen from me. Yes Ol' Lucifer de...

Wednesday, September 27, 2006. What happened to my whores? You know you're gone from the blog scene for a while and next thing you know your whores run off and stop posting. I think for sure I'm gonna have to choke a bitch. I mean, what am I suppose to do at work now to pass the time now that I can't read those prostitute blogs? These hands are too pretty for manual labor. Or any labor for that matter. Sure Can I write a legit screenplay? And to tell you the truth it's actually fun. Especially when I...

Ghetto FOBulous: August 2006

http://ghetto-fobulous.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 01, 2006. Once upon a time there lived a cute little puppy named Raider. He hung out in the land of the Manhattan, playing and sleeping, and then playing again. He had good friends who adored his company and together they lived very happily. These were happy times. Until one day Raider dropped a deuce in front of his friend's door and got kicked in his face! They deep fried his ass, ate him for dinner that night and lived happily ever after. The end! Posted by Ghetto FOBulous @ 9:42 AM.

Ghetto FOBulous: June 2006

http://ghetto-fobulous.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 26, 2006. Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes. Okay, so considering this hot humid weather, this isn't exactly Seasons of Love. But I just saw the movie Rent last night and it got me thinking about how much I really didn't appreciate the musical. Probably because Doogie Howser was playing the lead. but anyway, aside from the good music the movie brings up a good point about the dynamic of a group of friends. So here's my attempt at a solution. Read on. La La La La. Fob: *...

Friday, April 21, 2006. Brokeback Japan part 2. We arrive in Kyoto late that evening. For me, I've been up for almost 24 hours straight and am ready to pass out. But it's alright. I'm on vacation. I don't have to go back to the hell hole of an office for one whole week. Tasting that dim sum with some wasabi dressing. Finally, Tokyo. It's best to do the touristy thing first and then party like a porn star? Or was it rock star? Will Jwang drink too much and throw up as usual? It's time to find out! Not qui...

Choices come in life. Should I eat a double-double with fries and a shake? Or a salad with light vinaigrette dressing? Should I go buy the latest seasonal clothing line from DKNY? Or buy some new equipment for my photography? Or stay home and save that money for my next investment? So should I turn over a new leaf?

Ghetto FOBulous: May 2006

http://ghetto-fobulous.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 22, 2006. Alright, so it's not so bad. Maybe I was prejudice towards the environment. The crowd here isn't what I'm used to. The things to do and see are different as well. But living out by the beach isn't so bad. In fact, I'm really starting to enjoy it. Life here is something I can adapt to. But I don't think it's necessarily the setting. More a change in mindset. Usually come the weekend I head back to the Heights to go hang out with my family and see my fobby and ghetto friends&#...So to...

Monday, February 27, 2006. Big Money. no whammy! 3 5 12. 16. 34. and the mega is 27. Again, another weekend, another loss. Why I keep playing this? Well, it's because I'm just as much a loser everyone else who plays this. Like you feel guilty for buying Lotto tickets? I don't know what exactly it is, but it feels similar to the first time I bought condoms. Like I'm doing something I shouldn't be doing. I might as well top it off and ask for both together with a bottle of alcohol. Friday, February 24, 2006.

Things I eat. Things I make. Things I see. Things. Eggs In Purgatory (Uova In Purgatorio). December 29, 2011. A couple of friends came over so I made a simple sauce to go with tortellini. There was some sauce leftover so I decided to try something new. I have seen eggs in purgatory in several cookbooks but never tried to make it. It just seemed like something that would be good together, tomato sauce and eggs. December 24, 2011. A few months back we stumbled upon The Old Courthouse. December 23, 2011.
