Frabjous Days

Friday, 12 March 2010. Facebook on the other hand. Is quite tempting. I joined ages ago but haven't really used it. I think until yesterday I had about 8 friends, half of whom are priests or nuns! But it might be quite a nice way of keeping in touch with all my imaginary blog friends. So if you like, leave a comment with your name and I'll try to find you. I won't publish your name! Links to this post. Tuesday, 23 February 2010. Good-Bye to All That. Family photos, unguarded comments: it's all written as...

Frabjous Days: 02/01/2010 - 03/01/2010

http://frabjousdays.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 23 February 2010. Good-Bye to All That. I recently had an experience which made me rethink my relationship with the internet. A news story was published about me, against my will and without my consent. The newspaper included a photo of me. This they got from an article I had. Consented to a few years ago. Little did I know then that the photo would be forever on their hard drive, to be reused years later. Thanks for all the comments which I've much enjoyed. Oh, by the way, in case you're wonder...

Frabjous Days: Brown-eyed girl

http://frabjousdays.blogspot.com/2007/01/brown-eyed-girl.html

Sunday, 14 January 2007. Then the lies began. The man listed as my father on my birth certificate, isn't. No-one knew, or even guessed, the truth. The little lies my mother told helped the deception. My brother had big hands like Dad. My sister had blue eyes like Great-Granny Alice (on my 'father's' side. The correct term these days is 'social father'.) What I have only just realised is that. These lies even extend to what colour eyes I think I have. A voluntary agency where donors and donor conceived ad...

Unfurl the sails, and let God steer us where He will. St Bede. July 17, 2009. Newsflash. Clare stung by wasp. She is in a stable condition. I have a distinct memory of standing beside my father when he chatted to a neighbour about a sting he got from a wasp. I was about 7 or 8 years old. The precise words he used were “. It was like the kick of a mule. I became quite phobic and completely obsessed with avoiding EVER being stung by one of these power packed little demons. Had I known that my dreaded nemes...

Unfurl the sails, and let God steer us where He will. St Bede. June 1, 2009. I hate judgementalism, it makes me very judgemental. Sometimes it’s hard being Catholic . I find the company difficult sometimes. That was the good bit. The less good bit was another encounter with my own less than impressive advance in the area of personal sanctity. To wit, a tendancy towards irritability and judgementalism when I’m at these kind of ‘churchy do’s’. As if MY OWN was giving Mother Teresa a run for her money.

Unfurl the sails, and let God steer us where He will. St Bede. February 27, 2010. A rather belated note. To any traveller passing by this way looking for my blog. Can I redirect you here. It’s been a while i know and it’s awfully remiss of me not to have done this earlier. I just found this homeschool blogger a little confusing to use at times. My new blog really seems more suited to the utter blogging simpleton ssuch as myself. Do visit me there and say hello! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Unfurl the sails, and let God steer us where He will. St Bede. May 9, 2009. This isn’t my first blog. I have an old one. That was sadly neglected for a couple of years. Not being quite sure how to introduce myself here, I’ve decided to copy and paste my ‘hello again’ post from there. Since this is a new beginning, I felt it was time for a new, fresh blog. Bear with me while I tinker. I know it’s a terrible breach of bloggy etiquette to just disappear with no word of explanation. It’s a long story. I have...

I Shutter to Think: February 2008

I Shutter to Think. The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it." Ansel Adams. Thursday, February 28, 2008. Theme Thursday - Memories. Yes, I've been a very bad blogger these past few weeks. I haven't really found much inspiration and I also haven't been feeling that well. My grandmother was born February 26, 1914. Matthew was born June 22, 2007. She's only 93 1/2 years older than him, not much of a difference. Posted by Kim at 9:31 AM. Wednesday, February 13, 2008.

Fifteen years ago, Apple delivered a fast, good-looking, easy to use operating system with a solid Unix foundation that ran on great hardware. Developers flocked to it and evangelised Macs and OS X wholeheartedly to friends, family and colleagues. This toehold in the market was a significant contributor to Apple’s now near ubiquity outside the enterprise. Looking forward to Xcode 7. I’m really looking forward to the Xcode 7 GM release, but maybe not for the reason you think. To build a cross-platform app...
