But I did take it out and work on it recently. This is a terrible photo, the colors are great and I do intend to keep plugging along on it. Here's an Anna's Hummingbird. The Rufous Hummingbirds and look short and stout. Or long and sleek. I watched with interest to see if this hummer would lite and get a drink.

Wednesday, 27 February 2013. It's been a bit quite around here lately and all because of a wicked cold. My GP tells me it is an upper respiratory illness which makes it sound tame. I can assure you, it has been anything but tame! I'm on the road to recovery but my stitching has taken a hit as has my blog reading and updating. How to syphon water from the tub to water plants with a hose. 1) Put the end of the hose in the tub and turn on the hose for a minute, keeping the end under water. 2) Turn off the hose, still keeping the end under water. 3) Raise up the middle of the hose over a door or something high, window sill, etc. 4) Unscrew the end of the hose where it screws into the faucet. 6) Once you have suction, the water should drain from the tub onto your plants! There you have it, recycled water!

I don't have much energy today - but we can still see a lot with a walk around the edges of the front and backyards. Starting off with the bright green leaves of the Elderberry - the Black-headed Grosbeaks will eat all the berries before they even ripen. Oregon Junco on a Hawthorne - the tree is beginning to bud. My mom and sister with my dad's help have planted daffodils all over the place. A clump of Iris tenax.
