As the Fireweed Turns. Newer posts →. August 19, 2011 · 10:58 pm. I have little ears! Oh yes, as I was checking on my tomatoes and tiger beans, I saw something at the bottom on my stalks of corn that captured my eye. It was oddly colored purple, with a tad bit of fringe. OH! I checked all my stalks and at the moment I have 3. I was so excited, I ran in to tell my husband, who thinks I am a dork and funny because I have 3 ears of corn. When he came out to inspect them, he was pretty impressed. I also had ...

Mine turned to much, as the squash did and a few other curbits. The rain was horrible this year, and the powdery mildew you had, I had on everything as well. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Moose Nugget: Putting Up and Putting Out
http://akmoosepoop.blogspot.com/2010/09/putting-up-and-putting-out.html
Follow this southern family's jouney into Alaska. Friday, September 17, 2010. Putting Up and Putting Out. Another busy week is flying by. I always forget that Friday means a lot to the rest of the universe. With J's weird work schedule and no other agenda besides homesteading, I lose track of the significance of days. Chickens don't care about weekends and no one told the woodpile what day of the week it was either. You can tell autumn is here. The work is partly frantic (shut of outdoor water! Whatever ...

Moose Nugget: What Can Be Done In A Day
http://akmoosepoop.blogspot.com/2010/09/what-can-be-done-in-day.html
Follow this southern family's jouney into Alaska. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. What Can Be Done In A Day. We had one BUSY day here yesterday. It started with WAITING. Waiting for the dozer rental companies to call us back (they did). Waiting to see if the rain was gonna let up (it did). Waiting for the dozer to be delivered (it was, eventually). You can send griwnups to time out for temper tantrums when they aren't getting their way. A million questions ran through my mind at once. Is this a work thing?

Heirloom Seeds, Gardening Tips, Recipes and so much more…. Spring in the Greenhouse. April 15, 2011. I love the promise a greenhouse holds…the warm damp scent of the soil, the warmth that you step into upon entering, the sight of rich deep green leaves…the very essence of life, creation and of course, resurrection. Has anyone ever started their seeds in an incubator? That’s right, an egg incubator for hatching eggs! Well I knew it couldn’t be no rabbit sneaking in so it had to be a mouse. Now I...A new h...

Heirloom Seeds, Gardening Tips, Recipes and so much more…. Is Spring Here Yet? Spring in the Greenhouse →. February 7, 2011. We had a beautiful snow storm last week. Lettuce: Little Gem, Mueslix. Peppers: Albino, Q...
