The Gastronomical Jess
Wednesday, February 16, 2011. They are in season now, in February, a bit of citrus-y sunshine in what has been an otherwise beastly cold winter. Above, I came across this great recipe from Bon Appetite,. And plan on trying it this week! 2 cups low-salt chicken broth (or vegetable stock). 1 10-ounce package plain couscous (about 1 2/3 cups). 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 15-ounce can chickpeas. 12 large green olives, pitted, quartered lengthwise. 6 dates, pitted, diced. 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped.

Gastronomically Yours...
Sharing food with another human being is an intimate act that should not be indulged in lightly - M. F. K. Fisher. Saturday, 28 June 2014. Probably the best Laksa Lemak in town. Stumbled upon this little shop at Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling during one of my bicycle adventure in the heart of George Town. The shop is called "Chin Chai Chiak" a hokkien dialect which literally means anything can be eaten.errr doesn't make sense right? But who cares when the food is good. Labels: best in town. Picture above sh...

Personal musings about food and drink. Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Ok so pretty much anyone who knows me knows I'm excited by food; but nothing, and I mean NOTHING has excited me so much (lately) as my visits to Num Pang. One of my favorites is the Five Spice Glazed Pork Belly sandwich with asian pears.the pork belly melts as sweetly as cotton candy; but I will not confine myself. The Peppercorn Catfish! The Pulled Pork with spiced honey! The Ginger BBQ Brisket! And you WILL thank me. You Are a Member.

Gastronomically Me – My journey through weight loss surgery
My journey through weight loss surgery. Almost my one month surgiversary…. Tomorrow marks four weeks since I had my surgery and Saturday is my one month surgiversary. I feel almost like myself. I’m still pretty tired all the time. It’s super hard not to eat and drink at the same time. Last night I was so thirsty and I didn’t wait the thirty minutes and I almost lost my cookies. So now I really know how important it is not to eat and drink at the same time. November 2, 2016. Today I am at my parents house...

Gastronomically Promiscuous | A girl obsessed with food.
A girl obsessed with food. Oatmeal Sunflower Seed Bread. April 3, 2016. I’m ashamed to say that it has been way too long since my last post. I haven’t stopped cooking, but a busy career leaves me little time to write. Today I’m finding the time! I’ve really into baking bread lately. Who doesn’t love the smell and taste of fresh baked bread? 1 cup – warm water. 2 teaspoons – active dry yeast. 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon – canola oil. 2 tablespoons – honey or sugar (brown or white). November 29, 2014.

Sunday, April 4, 2010. Two new favorite restaurants in NYC. On my trips back to NYC over the past six months or so, I've tried several new restaurants but these two stand out in my mind: Hundred Acres in the West Village and Ippudo in the East Village. Ippudo: hands down the best ramen shop in NYC. And everyone else in the city seems to think so because I went for lunch on a random Tuesday and the wait was 30 minutes! Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers. I've seen them go for as low as $2.50 each at Target.
