Costa Rica Service Program Blog: Working on a very important brochure
http://costaricateamjournal.blogspot.com/2013/08/working-on-very-important-brochure.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. Working on a very important brochure. Today was spent almost entirely in the teacher's salon working with Karen on one of the most important tasks so far: creating a bilingual pamphlet detailing the five main projects undertaken by the students of Colegio. Raising and selling both young and mature pigs (for commercial and culinary purposes, respectively). Caring for nearly 100 ponedora hens (and collecting their fresh and delicious eggs on a daily basis). I have no doubts that ea...

Costa Rica Service Program Blog: Extra special bonding time
http://costaricateamjournal.blogspot.com/2013/08/extra-special-bonding-time.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. Extra special bonding time. Getting ready to paint! Karen sharing her expertise. Profesor Jorge, Lena, Jen, and Justing on a painting mission. We finished just in time before the rain swept in. The morning had been the prettiest weather of the week and there were gorgeous views of the water from the top of the hill where the classroom that we were painting perched. It was mesmerizing watching the fog roll in, bringing the rain with it. The view in the afternoon. Http:/ www....

Vietnam Report from the Field: December 2011
http://vietnamteamjournal.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 2, 2011. Mixed emotions always accompany the final day of any extended experience. Was it what we expected? Did we need our host’s expectations? What can we take away from all this and what is best forgotten? In any case, our last day began with a rare brightness from the sun shining through clear skies, an uplifting omen perhaps. Pam was expected to participate as a judge but previous commitments at the University precluded her attendcance. An audio system amplified noise and music.

Romania: Impressed by the Romanian people
http://romaniateamjournal.blogspot.com/2013/09/impressed-by-romanian-people.html
Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Impressed by the Romanian people. Today was our third day at the clinic. I think that both the children and volunteers have found our groove together. We have learned which children need a little extra encouragement and those who need a little bit more discipline. I think today, I was only pinched once by Alina! However, today Sammy did pull my hair once or maybe three times. Every time we pass by. We are all feeling a bit tired; however, seeing the smiling beautiful faces ...

Romania: May 2012

Friday, May 25, 2012. Yesterday I left many sets of the flash cards at the school. Today I was very pleased to see the English teacher already going through them to determine what she might use in her class. Each class today was Bingo time. We played Bingo last Friday and the kids have begged for it every day. I told them we would do Bingo again on Friday. Bingo gives the students good practice for speaking and hearing numbers.
