Quinoa with spring vegetables and walnut-kale pesto. April 8, 2010. Five days a week, just about 2 o’clock, Lu and I stand by the door for kisses. She waves her hand vigorously, then asks me to stand her up on the windowsill to wave and blow more kisses. Danny’s leaving for work. Within the hour, he’ll be creating dishes like this. Whose every healthy breath seemed like a dream. He didn’t want to miss a bit of it. It was a great year. Lu grew and grew stronger. After her surgery. 8220;I think the veg spe...
and finally, there's teff | Gluten Free Girl
https://glutenfreegirl.com/2005/12/and-finally-theres-teff
And finally, there’s teff. December 21, 2005. Tef flour chocolate bread II. Originally uploaded by shaunaforce. Today is the darkest day of the year. Outside my window, rain splashes down in furious puddles on the Seattle streets. People walking by look harried, clutching packages and bags with fraying handles, their hands loaded down by last-minute presents. We re all fighting the darkness with lights and action. And what am I doing to deal with the shortest day of the entire year? And thank goodness fo...

a guide to working with gluten-free flours | Gluten Free Girl
https://glutenfreegirl.com/2007/10/a-guide-to-working-with-gluten-free-flours
A guide to working with gluten-free flours. Are you new to gluten-free? October 26, 2007. When I was a kid, I had an irrational love of Tootsie Rolls. Not so much anymore. Since I went gluten-free and started cooking from scratch, eating in season, and eating whole foods instead of stuff out of boxes, I ve lost my taste for overly sweet foods. The high fructose corn syrup just doesn t like me, it seems. Why do you like those? People sometimes asked me. They re a terrible imitation of chocolate. I hesitat...

Life at Chez Smiffy: Insight
http://chezsmiffy.blogspot.com/2011/03/insight.html
Why we eat the way we do (revised 2010). In looking over my attempts at photography over the last couple of weeks, I am struck that there is a reason I had been unable to get a usable shot. I couldn't (can't) stand still. I sway a lot lately, as I spin with my head in an attempt to not fall over. And even when I am propped against a support, my hands are trembling. So, as my head clears, perhaps I wil get better photos. (I hope.). March 21, 2011 12:51 PM. But I dont choose to lug around a tripod, so.

Sunday, April 28, 2013. Today is a sad day at my house. My beloved chicken friend 'Buttercup' died. A Coyote I believe murdered her. He is now on my hit list. I don't think my pellet gun will do much damage to him. Is that normal behavior? If you are on the fence about getting chickens, please get them. They will make you happy. They are very sociable, talk to them as your little friends and feed them special treats, and they will adore you like no other. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Bird Seed and Bird Feeder.

About Gluten-Free Girl
Saturday, October 6, 2007. Hi My name is Shauna James Ahern. I am alive. I have been alive since August of 1966. Or, should I say, I have been on this earth since then. I haven’t always been alive. For much of my life, I felt lousy. Low in energy. Sick and sometimes depressed. I didn’t know why. Still, I survived. And I laughed deep from my belly, in most moments of the day. I adore being here. I am constantly amazed by life and frequently struck by the absurdity of it. Mostly, I’m grateful. Being diagno...

Gluten-Free Girl and the Goat. Friday, June 3, 2011. Fast n' Easy Fridays: Vegetable Tacos. Last week I started a new job and it has been insane. Leaving early, staying late and so many meetings, I’m lucky if I see my desk before 5pm. Planning out careful breakfasts, snacks and lunches is a thing of the past. I haven’t had a minute to sleep, let alone cook or write a blog post! With that in mind, Fast n’ Easy Fridays is probably more important than ever! 1 avocado, sliced. 189; cup shredded red cabbage.

Gluten Free Girlfriend | 20 pounds. 16 months. 1 lifestyle change.
20 pounds. 16 months. 1 lifestyle change. So today has started out both good and bad, for breakfast I had a 100 calorie strawberry greek yogurt, and coffee. Not exactly a well-rounded breakfast, but I was running out the door because I was late for work. Then I had a KIND bar as a mid-morning snack, which when I look back on it I realize that a bar with so many calories and grams of protein is unnecessary to hold me over until lunch. I’ll try to change this tomorrow. In the Beginning….
