The Global Golfer: Dreamland (Pharaoh)
http://theglobalgolfer.blogspot.com/2010/02/dreamland-pharaoh.html
Have clubs, will travel. Tuesday, February 09, 2010. The first green sits surrounded by a mass (or perhaps a mess) of steel and concrete. The tee markers were sufficiently tacky! The 8th hole calls for a mid iron to a false fronted green that will accept only a pinpoint shot. Course name: Dreamland (Pharaoh). Location: Cairo, Egypt. Four Word Course Review: Second best pyramid views. In hindsight, I probably should have done a bit more groundwork. Gutted, I jump on the internet, certain I have seen anoth...

The Global Golfer: Barnbougle Dunes
http://theglobalgolfer.blogspot.com/2011/03/barnbougle-dunes.html
Have clubs, will travel. Friday, March 04, 2011. A split-level fairway at the 3rd means you earn a double benefit by hugging the right: a flat shot down the length of the green rather than uphill and across it. A brave tee shot at the 4th will most likely yield an eagle putt if successful in carrying the immense drive bunker as the green gathers from almost anywhere directly over the sand. A view of the 4th green from its back right. This view from the tee cannot to justice to the size and scale of the i...

The Global Golfer: Newcastle
http://theglobalgolfer.blogspot.com/2011/08/376m-1st-is-sturdy-opener-good-drive.html
Have clubs, will travel. Saturday, August 27, 2011. The 376m 1st is a sturdy opener - a good drive leaving this mid-iron approach to a dunetop green with few places to miss. The 3rd is an interesting hole of 217m that will force most plays to decide whether to play it as a two-shot or one-shot hole, with the short left bunkers adding interest. There are many drives on the course similar to this at the 368m 5th. There's great benefit to driving right at the 326m 11th. Newcastle is a little bit of a sleepe...

The Life of Brian: Gone Fishing...
http://brianjlaurent.blogspot.com/2008/06/gone-fishing.html
The Life of Brian. Sunday, June 29, 2008. But still not catching anything! OK, so I didn't even try this weekend, but I did have a nice relaxing weekend up at the lake once again. Except of course for a little incident with Winston. Aside from this unfortunate accident, it was a pretty relaxing weekend. It was too wet to mow, so I got off easy there! We dodged storms all weekend and when it wasn't raining, it was absolutely perfect! The cloud cover made for some very cool sunset photos. The WIFE and me.

The Life of Brian: Holiday Weekend!
http://brianjlaurent.blogspot.com/2008/05/holiday-weekend.html
The Life of Brian. Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Finally, a three day weekend.sort of! What a great holiday weekend for me.it started on Friday morning, when I got to the office and had an email inviting me to tee it with a customer at noon. Since I wasn't prepared, I had to leave the office at 10:30 to run home and get all my goods. The weekend continued with rounds of golf on Saturday, Sunday and Monday! All that's left are the blinds, a rug and a threshold. Where was the 69 at? Pictures of the 500 ar hilario...

The Life of Brian: February 2008
http://brianjlaurent.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
The Life of Brian. Tuesday, February 26, 2008. Just thought I'd share a photo of the new, somewhat finished closet.it's a beauty Clark! Saturday, February 23, 2008. And so it begins. I'm still in disbelief that we're having a baby, but with only a bit over 5 months to go.we need to get things ready for the new addition. Today it began! It's not a good thing that Kristi and I are both pack-rats! With some of these items tossed or just moved to the office, I have a closet to start working on! I got a book ...

The Life of Brian: March 2008
http://brianjlaurent.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
The Life of Brian. Friday, March 28, 2008. We had our 20 week appointment yesterday.the development of little Laurent is right on track. We're able to call the kid by name now.we found out we're having a boy! Both of my parents middle names begin with J, so it is fitting there as well. If your name starts with J, feel free to claim that we named our kid after you! Sunday, March 23, 2008. Hey everybody.or the two people that may actually be reading! With work taking up so much time, I've not really had a ...

Now On the Tee: The Delicate Balancing Act Called Life
http://nowonthetee.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-delicate-balancing-act-called-life.html
Now On the Tee. Inconsequential musings of a sport-obsessed golf fanatic from the Great White North. Course Profiles - Canada. Course Profiles - USA. Wednesday, May 06, 2015. The Delicate Balancing Act Called Life. A summer-time look at the lovely par three 12th hole at St. Catharines G&CC. I try to live up to my promises of posting more but I continue to fail miserably. I'm very lucky to have the staff I do and they are working their tails off for the company as I try to find suitable cover for their tw...

Adventures in Golf Course Architecture: Year in Review - 2014
http://adventuresingca.blogspot.com/2015/05/year-in-review-2014.html
Adventures in Golf Course Architecture. Friday, 8 May 2015. Year in Review - 2014. Bunkers left and right of fairway are staggered and cut into the hillside, adding some challenge and definition to the 13th hole at Kildonan Park Golf Course. Detail of right hand side fairway bunker. We have a few other clients pondering new work for 2015, and hopefully (after a few years of residential permitting complete) this summer we will break ground on the 9-hole addition at Lorette Golf Course. This past year I wa...
