In my family, asparagus is a meal-time favorite, so we decided to grow some in my mom’s garden. Here is a picture of our asparagus coming out of the ground:. The stalks grow straight out of the ground, and are cut with a knife by hand. Here are some fun facts about asparagus:. Asparagus grows in very saline soil, and often salt is sprinkled around growing asparagus to repel weeds.
