Climbing a Different Mountain: June 2012
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Saturday, 30 June 2012. Caught in a Trap. I couldn't wish for better. As you can see it is easy to get caught in a trap by going back to work. Good intentions of not doing too much, having time off when I need it all take a back seat when it comes to the needs of the company and most of all my perception of what others may think of me for not turning in and taking a back seat whilst others do the lions share. Sunday, 24 June 2012. I'm certa...

Climbing a Different Mountain: March 2012
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Saturday, 31 March 2012. The past few weeks have been a life changing experience. Just the simple things like Sue let out a big fart last night in bed and I envied her - What's that all about? Thursday Graham picked me up to go down to Pandrol for Johnny Clarke's retirement presentation to which Pat introduced me as a special guest. It was nice to see all the lads and hopefully I did not steal John's thunder on his special day. A very surpr...

Climbing a Different Mountain: July 2012
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Monday, 30 July 2012. Big Skies and Wide Eyed. Another Dawn - Big Skies and wide Eyed. The view from our garden on Thurdsay at 04.15. Sue changed my PICC dressing on Saturday morning when we both witnessed my line slowly come out of the vein by 1 cm as if my body was rejecting it. All we could do was to leave it and re-dress over it. Blog Addition Tuesday 05.30. One of Henry Moore's many sculptures in the park. Thursday, 26 July 2012. I hav...

https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Saturday, 23 February 2013. Saturday 23rd am - 03.30. I suppose that I'm at the end of the journey with only one final part of the jigsaw to put in place which is What does the Future Hold? There will be some follow up checks (I hope) just to make sure we remain that way. Inserted update from our poet laureate John Swinglehurst (26 th February) He got up bright and early to write this (well early) so we hope you appreciate it for what it is.

Climbing a Different Mountain: April 2012
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Friday, 27 April 2012. At last yesterday was the first eye to eye contact for a consultation with the cancer specialists at Weston Park. The waiting room was full of people of various ages some with wigs or hats covering treatment induced baldness and others looking reasonably healthy, just like me. When you know what to look for you can even see some with their own Bob pouch. I've already lost 3 kilos so really need to eat well in the run ...

https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2014/03/another-milestone.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Thursday, 20 March 2014. It is two years to the day since I had my double operation to remove my tumour and as I type this I would have still been on the slab for the second time in a day. So its not only a notable day in that respect but also in another in that have had my CT and Blood test results through by post. The letter said. 21 March 2014 at 20:18. Congratulations , ,! Climbing a Different Mountain: How are we now?
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-are-we-now.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Saturday, 10 May 2014. How are we now? So what have I been doing that's a gauge? After only two days at home I was off to walk Hadrian's Wall over six days, camping en-route.The numbness around my toes from the chemotherapy gives me the uncomfortable feeling that my socks are scrunched underneath whilst I'm walking but I managed OK. (I'm working on a write up on my other blog for this). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How are we now?

Climbing a Different Mountain: 3 Years On
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2015/04/3-years-on.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Friday, 10 April 2015. It has been over 3 years since I was diagnosed and 2 years since Bob, my stoma was put back to his rightful place. So how am I and do I have any after effects from both the treatment and the operation? Bob as he was - Surprised he was not so awful? Well I still occasionally get that when I'm in a warm atmosphere. Still active, climbing in the Peak District with Graham below. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Climbing a Different Mountain: September Follow Up
https://dalebloomer.blogspot.com/2014/09/september-follow-up.html
Climbing a Different Mountain. One Man's Journey through Cancer. Saturday, 13 September 2014. It has been a fairly benign few months on the health front concerning the cancer and related treatment. I found it hard to sum that sentence up because someone in my situation could assume that once the op was done (well the second one! The cancer was gone or was it? Did the chemo sort it? Or do I still have it? Climbing with Anne at Birchin Edge. Kayaking with Dave Wright on the River Idle. I suppose it sums up...
