For no other reason than the concoction of this aberration is enough to make the biggest balled, reddest blooded male crumble to his knees like a little bitch. Aptly named La Diabla, you can read more here. October 11, 2008. I’ve been fortunate to have Agent Mule. Scrutinize my rub. Rub for Texans, is like whiskey for an Irishman. Having him ar...So as...

Thursday, Dec 18 2008. Open Kitchen is at 5 Roncesvalles Avenue which is really about a 15 second walk north of Queen and Roncesvalles. I honestly was not sure what to expect in terms of the poutine at this place so I got it as a side to a veggie burger. Unrelated to this blog, the veggie burger was quite delicious maybe hamburger! Should make a trip there to see how the real deal holds upanyways! The gravy was alight but it was missing something it was missing a punch of flavor that could have saved thi...

Swine Flavored Smoke Signals. Just another WordPress.com weblog. About Me and Smoke. The Kids Are Alright. Maybe I’m A Hater →. January 5, 2009. For 2009, I rang in the new year’s prepping and re-doing the floor on my newly acquired studio that I share with Ben. For the record, Ben literally rang in the new years scraping linoleum off of the floor whereas I took a little break to have a brewski. So what does this have to do with barbecue? This entry was posted in BBQ. The Kids Are Alright. You are commen...

I squarely hinge this on Canada’s lovely winter. The sub-zero temperatures and mounds of snow have effectively kept me indoors and iced any barbecue ambitions. Jack Frost has won. Perhaps it’s a reflex of being a Torontonian where mediocrity seems to status-quo and authenticity seems to be non-existent. Maybe, our knee jerk reactio...Oh god&...

Thursday and gosh darn it I’m committed! This is the third week straight! I want to touch on a subject that really came to light shortly after my last entry. It’s died down slightly, but heck, I still want to express my ever-important opinion on it. And so I shall. Now, there’s the more realistic, less ...
