Sunday, September 23, 2012. Now this was a great African adventure. I just got back from a trip to Uganda, central Africa, and Germany. I'm entirely exhausted! Too many timezones does not do a body good. It was such a good trip though! I got to fly around Central African jungles in a tiny six-seater bush plane- and I nerded out about it- it was pretty awesome! My fancy accomodations.the guys were nice enough to string up a piece of cloth to make a little privacy for me. Not a river- awesome African roads.

Sunday, June 17, 2012. Finally put my Alaska pictures together. We started out at Seattle (which I had forgotten how beautiful it is! We had a day at sea, then we went to Juneau where we took a helicopter to a glacier and went dogsledding (yes- it was awesome! Then we went to Skagway and rode a bus up to the Yukon in Canada and then took this train back through some spectacular scenery. The cool bit is that I actually got to do it (with some of my compadres) and the boss people didn't have to come. Christmas morning was really nice, just hanging out and opening presents. It's so much fun watching the joy in our kiddos. They have been contentedly playing ever since. This week off from school has been super nice for all of us! Caroling crew at the "after-party" caroling was such a blessing to my soul! I plan to do that every year now.
