Happy Home Baking: Almost a Square

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2007/08/almost-square.html

It's all about the time I spend baking, cooking in my kitchen. Thursday, 2 August 2007. Made this Milk Loaf using a Pullman's tin (loaf pan that comes with a cover). I bought the tin for almost three weeks already, and I only got the chance to try it yesterday. Well, from the photo you would have guess that the loaf didn't turn out as expected.yes, it didn't fill up the entire tin :(. Using only the very basic ingredients and yet yield the best result. And the shadow belongs to this cute little"friend" o...

Happy Home Baking: Honey Buns

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2008/10/honey-buns.html

It's all about the time I spend baking, cooking in my kitchen. Friday, 31 October 2008. I am so glad I am now back to my baking routine. The first recipe I picked up was none other than a bread recipe from a cookbook I bought recently. Other than the almost burnt top, the bread is a winner. The crumb was very soft and fluffy. These buns have got texture that almost resembles those super soft kaya buns we had a week ago at this YY Kafei Dian (YY Coffee Shop). 4g (about 2/3 tsp) salt. Add in the 30g of but...

Happy Home Baking: Sweet Buns

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2007/01/sweet-buns.html

It's all about the time I spend baking, cooking in my kitchen. Monday, 1 January 2007. Now, why I did'nt think of that? I adapted the recipe from this site. Make around nine 60g portions). 5g active dry yeast. 1 egg, beaten, for glazing). Mix all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add in milk, egg and butter. Mix into a dough. After continuous kneading, the dough will no longer stick to the work surface. Brush the top with egg wash. Add almond flakes on the top of the buns, as desired. To check whether th...

Happy Home Baking: August 2007

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

It's all about the time I spend baking, cooking in my kitchen. Friday, 31 August 2007. Yesterday after school, I helped my two boys made a batch of these horlicks. To be given away as Teachers' Day gifts. How time flies, I could still remembered the same time last year, we made M and M chocolate chips cookies for their teachers, and we made it with a pack of ready-mix! Instead of using Koko. This time round, we used some Cookie Crisp cereals. The same range of kid's cereals as koko. I had a good time mak...

Happy Home Baking: Ichigo Daifuku (いちご大福)

http://happyhomebaking.blogspot.com/2010/03/ichigo-daifuku.html

It's all about the time I spend baking, cooking in my kitchen. Saturday, 27 March 2010. Two years have passed since I last promised my better half that I'll make him some Daifuku(大福); I kept putting it off. day after day, week after week, month after month ( ' ') I guess it is because I am not a fan of mochi.be it the Japanese mochi, Taiwanese mochi or even our local traditional ‘ Mua Chee. On daifuku that I learned the kanji for mochi is actually 餅. Here's sharing with you my little discovery:. Later, t...

Bake-A-Story: July 2010

http://bake-a-story.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 31, 2010. Cake for the Cycling Enthusiast. Made this cake for a boss who was leaving. The bicycle was the most difficult part of the cake. It fell apart in multiple places and I just tried to stick it together. I made the bicycle parts two days in advance. Here, the parts are drying. For the frame, I used spaghetti inside the gumpaste to help keep its shape. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Here are some pictures from the party. My other princess came as a ballerina. I love this pic! Bake-A-Story: Dora Cake

http://bake-a-story.blogspot.com/2011/02/dora-cake.html

Saturday, February 19, 2011. This cake was made last Christmas. I thought for a long time before I accepted the request. I ended up spending most of Christmas on making this cake. This cake was for Sarah's 3rd birthday. Making Dora from fondant was a real feat. The first Dora looked like someone from horror story. If it wasn't for Christmas, I would go out and get a Dora topper. The final Dora looked reasonable. And of course Dora would need her constant companion, Boots. February 21, 2011 at 11:03 AM.

Bake-A-Story: Geronimo Stilton For Gabriel

http://bake-a-story.blogspot.com/2010/10/geronimo-stilton-for-gabriel.html

Saturday, October 23, 2010. Geronimo Stilton For Gabriel. I incorporated elements of the book into the cake and this is Mr Stilton, complete with glasses and magnifying glass, as in the book. His party was held at Lilliputt, Singapore's only 18 hole mini golf. Thank God its indoors, the haze situation is BaaaD. The mini golfers had a great time! So much food wasted. Start with a short briefing. The staff at Lilliputt were so attentive and patient. Great place to hold a party. Susan: My Food Obsession.

Ashley Food Heaven: 3/1/09 - 4/1/09

http://ashleyfoodheaven.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 1, 2009. It has been a few months since my last post. I have been adapting to the new room and new housemates. Since I have been downgrading my life style now (no more having a house to myself), it is hard for me to do or cook what I like since I am sharing the kitchen with others. So, here it goes for today. It started off with my pizza and it was well received by them. I am very glad but it is a pity that I did not capture a few shots! For dinner, my housemate cooked for the night:. There...

Ashley Food Heaven: 7/1/09 - 8/1/09

http://ashleyfoodheaven.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 16, 2009. HmmI think I baked Raisin muffins before but the other version did not yield me a very very satisfying results. May be it is because I do not really like cinnamon and nutmeg which is in the recipe. This time around, the ingredients are very simple and the steps are even more simpler. Nutmeg and Cinamon is not used too:. 1 3/4 Cup Self Raising Flour. 1/4 Cup Butter (melted). 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence. 1 Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celsius. 3 Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
