HOMESPUN LIGHT: Icefall by Matthew J. Kirby
http://homespunlight.blogspot.com/2013/05/icefall-by-matthew-j-kirby.html
Deliciously Clean Reads. Homeschool. Faith. Life. Icefall by Matthew J. Kirby. Here's another quick recommendation. As you know, I've been a bit of a slacker on the blogging front lately. During my recess, I have read many books. Some turned out to be unworthy of Deliciously Clean Read status. Others were forgettable. Icefall by Matthew J. Kirby. Was one that stuck with me, and I wanted to make sure to mention here at Homespun Light. Amazon has the following plot description:. Check this one out! I'm a p...

HOMESPUN LIGHT: A Fun Craft for Boys: Melted Crayon Snakes
http://homespunlight.blogspot.com/2010/01/fun-craft-for-boys-melted-crayon-snakes.html
Deliciously Clean Reads. Homeschool. Faith. Life. A Fun Craft for Boys: Melted Crayon Snakes. Welly made a melted crayon snake for Bubs for Christmas. I've seen many, many, many tutorials online for making chunky crayon pieces from broken crayons. I was planning to use some cookie cutters on a cookie sheet, but Welly was determined to make Bubs a snake. Here's what we did. Step 1: Have an adult make a slit in the crayon wrapper. You don't have to do this, but it makes peeling your crayons much faster.
HOMESPUN LIGHT: Our Current Reading

Deliciously Clean Reads. Homeschool. Faith. Life. I'm usually a One-Book-at-a-Time kinda girl, but at the moment I'm all over the place. As much of a reader as I've been over the last decade, I feel like my eyes are just beginning to open, and I feel this thirst for more knowledge.and it feels good. Right now, I'm making my way through. The Cat of Bubastes by G. A. Henty-There's so much to learn from his historical fiction. Wow! The Infinite Atonement by Tad R. Callister-Beautiful. Great insights. The Wr...

My adventures in motherhood, marriage, womanhood and life. BY SMALL AND SIMPLE THINGS ARE GREAT THINGS BROUGHT TO PASS. Monday, January 30, 2012. I'm On My Way! In the last five weeks I have lost 15 pounds and over 2 inches on my hips! You probably can't even tell it yet by looking at me, but my loose pants sure feel good. I am so excited and plan to keep going until I reach my goal. Here’s what I have been doing to make it happen. I admit that some days when I go to the gym I feel self-conscious because...

Monday, September 19, 2011. As you can see, it was a beautiful day. In fact, they have had two weeks of wonderful weather this year. Today is the last day. Posted by Judie and George. Sunday, September 18, 2011. Today we were surprised by our children, who made treats, and decorated so that we would know they remembered our anniversary. And we were surprised! When it was time, Honor came downstairs and said we should come up, but we had to come up together. So we did! This was a lot of fun! We got a good...

Rugrats and Dirty Rugs: Just Call Me Rhonda
http://rugratsanddirtyrugs.blogspot.com/2010/05/just-call-me-rhonda.html
Rugrats and Dirty Rugs. I could clean them, but they'd just get dirty again. Monday, May 24, 2010. Just Call Me Rhonda. Growing up, I've never liked my name. When I was a kid, I went around telling my friends in elementary school that my real name was Rhonda. To this day, I don't know why I picked that particular name. I guess I liked the sound of it then, though now I'm wondering why I didn't pick something that was more flowery like Heather or Rosalind. I was named after my father. Only in the books do...

Hunyville Happenings: Trek!
http://hunyvillehappenings.blogspot.com/2012/07/trek.html
A journal of sorts, random thoughts, what we're up to. Sunday, July 15, 2012. A couple of weeks ago, I was privileged to be a ma for our stake's youth conference, a handcart pioneer trek. It was an amazing experience, full of challenges and learning to work together and spiritual experiences. On the last day, I asked most of my kids if they were glad that trek was so hard. They each gave me a resounding "YES! Here's a picture of Michael treking along. Here's a picture of my cute trek family. Hard working...

http://hunyvillehappenings.blogspot.com/2012/10/crazy-hair-day.html
A journal of sorts, random thoughts, what we're up to. Thursday, October 25, 2012. It was crazy hair day at the elementary school today. We got online and googled crazy hair day images. This is the one Abbie liked the best (it came from here. She was sooo excited to go to school! She said her hair looked. Like a truffela tree (her classroom is all Dr. Seuss). At the bus stop, cars kept honking at her and giving her the thumbs up sign. I love, love, love how much joy children get out of little things!

Rugrats and Dirty Rugs: June 2010
http://rugratsanddirtyrugs.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Rugrats and Dirty Rugs. I could clean them, but they'd just get dirty again. Thursday, June 10, 2010. I never dreamed I would one day homeschool my children. Growing up, I thought that homeschool was just a weird concept and that homeschooled kids were a little off. Then I grew up and learned differently. If the homeschool kids are a little off then that's because the parents are. I mean, they would have to be to want to teach all of their children themselves. Take me, for instance. There are the frustra...

Rugrats and Dirty Rugs: March 2010
http://rugratsanddirtyrugs.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Rugrats and Dirty Rugs. I could clean them, but they'd just get dirty again. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. I've always wanted to be the "cool mom". You know, the kind of mom that never raises her voice. I always imagine the "cool mom" to be able to explain to her children the reason why they can't do something in a calm voice with logical reasoning. The cool mom also bakes something sweet everyday. Who cares if it sounds like an army of zombies battling it out in the living room at 8:45pm. They'll be go...

You Can Comb Fiber in My Bed. Fiber mania hits a new high or low, depending on how you look at it. I actually sat in bed one night last week (PJs and all) and combed some washed-but-still-manky Shetland locks to get the dirt and VM out of the tips. Though I put a cloth on my lap and attempted to keep the mess under control, there were still crumbles in the bed. Let’s hear it for spouses that understand the insanity that is fiber addiction. My Shop Firefly Farm Goods. Wednesday, February 28, 2018. It's a warm, blustery, 60 degrees F, on this last day of February. On our walk I noticed a dandelion in bloom and, in my garden, the tulips are starting to push up out of the soil. The bud's are swelling on the lilac bushes, and we heard the very first Canadian geese fly overhead last week. There is also a winter storm watch for this weekend! Links to this post.
