Volunteering in Des Moines. Busy Start to 2012 →. December 5, 2011 · 10:00 am. I’m Still Alive! Hey all –. Wow it’s been a busy year. I promise I haven’t forgotten about the blog, but I’m having a big of a blog idenity crisis. I’m hoping to do some brainstorming on vacation next week and I’ll be back with some nice posts.🙂. In the mean time, I wanted to post my favorite photo from capitol #3 in Sacramento, CA! A nice tour before we ran the marathon on Sunday and it was a gorgeous day! And having a blast!

What is the best thing about Iowa? Is it the Iowa State Fair, the bluffs of the northeast or the Loess hills of the west, the lakes in the northwest or the pond in your grandparents’ backyard, the pride for our Hawkeyes, Cyclones, or Panthers, the Tulip Festival in Pella or the Rose Festival in State Center? How about the fact that you can do it all and see it all? I have contemplated starting a blog for some time now. For a number of reasons I kept putting it offbut no longer! For the past couple of years, I have driven down to SW 9. And Porter Avenue once a week during the summer and fall to spend time with a student at Orchard Place. I first learned of Orchard Place when the Junior League of Des Moines ( an organization I’ve mentioned before. Don’t recall but I remember being amazed. And it’s on my Target list already!
