The Unsigned Boolean: July 2009
http://robertluong.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Where your valuable time is the only currency. Friday, July 10, 2009. NET Data Services Entity Framework. I ran into an instance of pure OO zen when I decided to do Table-Per-Type inheritance and have that mapped appropriately in our model. I expose this through our ADO.NET Data Services layer and bam. We would then use data template mapping in Silverlight to map it to our control ideally. I'll go into Silverlight but I'm tired. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). NET Data Services Entity Framework.

The Unsigned Boolean: Project Execution
http://robertluong.blogspot.com/2010/08/project-execution.html
Where your valuable time is the only currency. Saturday, August 14, 2010. When I first begun hobby coding; I quickly learned that creating a solid project is hard to do. I think that when I begun doing contracting I realized the issue with scope creep. Most of the time it had to do with UX issues. With me not being a UX guy it was pretty hard to make these types of changes. What The. Fuck. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ian William James Halliday. View my complete profile.

The Unsigned Boolean: August 2010
http://robertluong.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Where your valuable time is the only currency. Wednesday, August 18, 2010. So I had my first lucid dream this morning. Not more than four hours ago. I was chatting online with a friend Kim when I said I should take a cat nap. It felt pretty real though. So for fun, I was like, if I can fall asleep in the next few seconds . let's see what happens . I fall asleep and I'm staring outside the balcony. Then I wake up again. Then I proceed to tell Kim what happened. Saturday, August 14, 2010. What The. Fuck.

Where your valuable time is the only currency. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Just came back from a long trip around Europe with Salman and Q. It's been a fun albeit exhausting journey. Where your valuable time is the only currency. Sunday, August 30, 2009. OSX feels a bit awkward to me. I suppose 'Windows' is natural to me because it's the operating system that I grew up with. However, I certain things weird. Reminds of the systems we used at schools where we can only use the bottom corner to resize. That's not a big deal but when I want to maximize the screen and the maximize window button doesn't work. I gotta drag and resize, drag and resize. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Unsigned Boolean: Christmas Sucks
http://robertluong.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-sucks.html
Where your valuable time is the only currency. Monday, December 27, 2010. Like I've said before. My life doesn't suck. The kid in Africa that has a worm burrowing into his eyeball taking away his sight. That guy's life sucks. Mine is just fine. So anyways, that was after being on hold for a total of 8 hours. I decided not to go through another hour of waiting to book another flight. It cost around 700 GBP for a one-way flight to Toronto. Now why doesn't life suck? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Compilers 101: It's Over!
http://compilers101.blogspot.com/2007/04/its-over.html
A blog about the CS 444 experience at the University of Waterloo. Thursday, April 05, 2007. Ugh, what a term this has been. This compiler project has not been the most joyful experience for sure, but its had its moments. Particularly great was the end where things started working and coming together, feature after feature being added. Its only made me realize that you can just keep going on a project like this. It really is a full time job to work on a compiler. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Compilers 101: 01/01/2007 - 02/01/2007

A blog about the CS 444 experience at the University of Waterloo. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Alright, here's an update. CS 444 has took an odd turn. The Ada/CS grammar has not yet been defined. The class decides what is in the grammar and what isn't. I'm under the impression that this is going to be clarified by the test cases that we were supposed to submit. Our current roles are as follows: Robert Scanner, Ian Bootstrapper, Dimitri Parser. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Do you feel me? We may have bitten ...
