The Snows: My Favorite Dress
http://youcouldworkit.blogspot.com/2012/05/my-favorite-dress.html
Monday, May 21, 2012. Today I'm wearing my favorite dress. It's an Isaac Mizrahi Herringbone Shirting dress. Ten bucks on sale at Target. I feel fabulous in it. It's modest. It never fails to get a complement. It makes me happy. And it's been everywhere with me. I was just recently going through my pictures and I realized so many favorite moments in life involved this dress! So thanks, sassy chica that just told me how amazing my outfit was. Thanks for inspiring this post. Pirates of the Caribbean. Trave...

Tuesday, January 5, 2016. The Happiness Project Chapter One. I happened to be around some young people who mentioned this book. I loved their enthusiasm as they explained how they were not only excited about following the suggestions in the book but seeing the changes in their lives. Isn't that what New Year's resolutions are all about after all? So I am going to post things that bring me happiness through out this year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Gossamer Threads Design: Sewing Room Redo
http://gossamerthreadsdesign.blogspot.com/2016/02/sewing-room-redo.html
Saturday, February 13, 2016. This drafting table I got at IKEA many years ago. The problem is I gathered so much clutter that in order to cut anything on this table I had to either take everything off the table or being a bit lazy just move items to one side. Not very efficient. Sorry for the glare! I cleared off the drafting table surface making a more efficient work space. I also cleaned up all the hidden clutter underneath the table, giving more leg space. I took my Ironing Board Cover off to clean.

Gossamer Threads Design: November 2014
http://gossamerthreadsdesign.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 13, 2014. The Couture School Day 4. Sew bodice to skirt except over the pleats. Pleasts needed to adjust a bit to lay flat. Fine tuning my shoulder adjustment as follows:. I needed to tuck in the neck a little. I took out the shoulder seam, aligned the princess seams and basically created a dart at the neck line. Stitched my shoulders and here is the end result below. The amazing Leisa from A Challenging Sew. She is an amazing, hard worker! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Do You Do Pink?

Gossamer Threads Design: October 2014
http://gossamerthreadsdesign.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2014. The Couture School Day 3. I have neglected my blog but wanted to give this portion some thought. The fitting process for my shoulder area is not for the faint at heart, and I am forever grateful for Susan's patience and skill. The above right shoulder measures 1/2" longer then the left shoulder. Because the right shoulder rolls forward 1/2", the Center Front to right shoulder measures 1/2" shorter then the left shoulder. This is my cheat sheet of changes I make with illustrations.

Wednesday, April 29, 2015. English Paper Piecing Hexie Flowers. There is something about Spring, Babies, Color and Family that touches me. I came across Jodi's blog www.talesofcloth.com and her 550 flowers for a special friend of hers in need of a little comfort. If you would like a reason to smile go to her blog and see this magnificent quilt she put together! Monday, April 6, 2015. I cut a rough circle shape around each snap, giving some allowance. Pulled up the thread, not to tight. You can see a litt...

Gossamer Threads Design: Alabama Chanin Skirt The Process
http://gossamerthreadsdesign.blogspot.com/2015/08/alabama-chanin-skirt-process.html
Monday, August 17, 2015. Alabama Chanin Skirt The Process. My daughter Jane gets to be the model for this skirt I finished from an Albama Chanin Kit. http:/ alabamachanin.com/diy-bloomers-swing-skirt. I first looked at various scissors to work with. I ended up using the black Dovo scissors (with the bead chain) to cut out the applicae, the curved tipped scissors ( to start the applicae, to the left), and the Geiger 5" tailor scissors for everything else (bottom). My underlining panel in muted. Subscribe ...
