A recent thread in the Atalanta Owners Association. Forum concerning WW2 airborne lifeboats led me to research a little deeper. Uffa Fox. Developed a technique that was later adapted by Fairey Marine. In the construction of their boats including the Atalanta 26. The Us adapted the same technique in the design of the A12 Airborne Lifeboat which was used success-. Fully during WW2 in the Pacific. The following photo comes from InTheBoatShed,. Salizanda and Me: Motor and Electrics
http://salizanda.blogspot.com/2009/03/motor-and-electrics.html
I discovered all I know about electrics at the age of seven when I stuck my finger in the back of a tube radio. However, local regulations for our local sailing area along with many other local authorities for inland waters in Europe, prohibit IC motors. So I was faced with the reality of pulling the diesel motor and installing an electric propulsion system. I had already made many mistakes and amassed a collection of unusable junk. My present system comprises of the following components:. I want to spen...

Salizanda and Me: The Topsides
http://salizanda.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-topsides.html
I really wanted to have the topsides clear. I’d seen an Atalanta 26 before with clear topsides and fallen in love with it, but with all the patches, ble-. Mishes and paint filled gouges, I realized that it would not be possible. Then I discovered a veneer company in Vienna called “Liechtenstein. 8221; This place was a wood lover’s dream come true. An Aladdin’s Cave; a vast hall filled with stacks of the most beautiful and exotic wood veneers imaginable. When the whole laminate was com-. The final finish ...

Bursledon Blog: Early Start
http://bursledonblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/early-start.html
Friday, 15 May 2015. I had some early morning conference calls, so set the alarm but it was one of those nights when you are so concious of getting up early you can't sleep. So I took the opportunity to sneak in an early run just as it was getting light. And what a morning it was, not a breath of wind on the water, colours so rich it was like looking at a Canaletto painting. Sadly the quality of the camera on my phone doesn't due justice. 16 May 2015 at 22:43. Max: you are a wise man. My Photos on Flickr.

North Star: BCN Table of Distances
http://nbnorthstar.blogspot.com/2011/06/bcn-table-of-distances.html
Saturday, 4 June 2011. BCN Table of Distances. I recently bought one of the original BCN Table of Distances, partly because I had recently lost out in an auction for another BCN share certificate. And partly because I wanted it. The BCN Table of Distances is heavy - just under 8kg - and is all solid, rubbed leather, bindings and heavy paper. Each of its one hundred pages simply shows the Birmingham Canal Navigations in strip form. Every branch, every arm, every wharf, bridge and lock. 4 June 2011 at 22:29.

Keeping It Simple: December 2008
http://tom-jen.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 21, 2008. Rumbly in my Tumbly. Sunday morning . church is done . coffee is brewing, nothing fits this better than good old flap jacks cooking on the griddle! 2, 3 maybe 4 years or so ago Jen and I started cooking griddle cakes for breakfast on Sunday mornings. Being the yuppie food snobs that we are, we decided that Bisquick just wasn't good enough. Ok, so it was really a Good Eats. Recipe that did it for us. Keep a container of this stuff on hand and presto! Posted by Tom and Jen. Ok, s...

http://tom-jen.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 28, 2009. Starting in April, if you are looking for me at Slumberland. You aren't going to find me there. Instead, cross the dam, head up the bluff a little way and look for the greens and bunkers. You'll find me in the clubhouse behind the counter. Crofton's. Golf Course has hired me to be the Clubhouse Manager! So, for those of you who own a set of clubs, come on over and visit! Here's a few pics of some of us playing at the Crofton. Wolstenholme Coot For Sale. Iain Oughtred Whilly Tern. Billy Neil's Super Store. Friday, 20 December 2013. The Famous Five ventured out into the New Forest again the other day. It will come as no surprise to some, especially those who know us, that out of four cars, containing five cartographers, two cars managed to turn up at the wrong car park. Of course we'd probably all used G* gle Maps to find our way. Soon rectified by a couple of mobile phone calls we were re-united and raring to go. We'd seen sig...
