Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: January 2014
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Monday, January 20. 33 Weeks and 1 day - 49 days to go. Lack of posts have been 100% due to the fact that we still haven't set up our computer. Between David's laptop and my iPhone, I've not really felt a crazy need for it. Plus I can compute at work as much as I really need. However, neither iPhone nor computer at work are great for blogging. So while David relaxes with Batman, I get to blog. Edit: we also did maternity photos, here's the first two:. Watermark ...

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: May 2014
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Saturday, May 17. On Tuesday, BeanBean/Ellie/Gabriella turned 2 months old! This last month has been so rewarding as I am really starting to find out what she is like and uncovering her preferences. Not so sure about smiling. She still does not love tummy time but is able to straighten her right arm some of the times. On her back (which she has definitely come around to), she loves to kick and punch. Sometimes she hits her toys but we're not always sure ...That'...

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: February 2014
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Tuesday, February 11. So while it's 26 days until she's due, I'm thinking Wednesday, March 12. Time will tell I suppose. Baby is the same size as Swiss Chard (because that's a real unit of measure people are familiar with). So I'm kind of at a loss for actual food, but I've got baking covered. Also freezing some baking makes me feel like I'm showing self control and not eating them all, so it's win-win. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Water...

Digging to China: June 2011
http://lucky97laura.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
A Drama Queen's Quest to Bring Laughter to the Youth in Asia. Monday, June 20, 2011. Wherein Laura realized that she is not meant for final frontiers. This is a very tardy post about my Easter holiday in Xinjiang , China, with my pal Daniel. I can't resist calling him Daniel-san, even though he is not Japanese and has never seen. Anyway, here are some people we met:. Yes, we met these people in China. Yes, they are Chinese. Shortest History Lesson Ever:. Bottom line: Xinjiang is NOT the China we see on TV.

Digging to China: April 2011
http://lucky97laura.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
A Drama Queen's Quest to Bring Laughter to the Youth in Asia. Friday, April 22, 2011. Sometimes, the gold at the end of the rainbow sucks. This is a small peek into the way I process things. Before I begin, I suppose I should mention that I've decided to leave HK forever this summer. Don't dwell- it had to happen someday and I don't have answers to your questions. To keep me interested. Keep me striving. This is what Finding Froot Loops has been all about. Wednesday, April 13, 2011. So, when the feedback...

Digging to China: October 2010
http://lucky97laura.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
A Drama Queen's Quest to Bring Laughter to the Youth in Asia. Thursday, October 28, 2010. Return to the ROC - aka the Real China. The tourist slogan of Taiwan, and an absolute guarantee to those who visit this magical land. With the exception of Shenzhen, Taipei is the only place in Asia that I've ventured back to for another round, so you know it's gotta be good. For the record, Shenzhen is not good, I just like buying totally legitimate DVDs. The first: hot spring culture. When the effect of the hot sp...

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: October 2014
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Tuesday, October 21. The Bean at 7 months. We made it to 7 months. Before I had a baby I thought things would be so much more different at 7 months than they are, and I was about 99% wrong. But I'm mostly ok with that. So here she is:. David is so so so good with her and they will spend tonnes of time looking out the window seeing the fall changes and watching cars go by. It's way cute. Food is going great and she'll eat just about anything (even willingly tried...

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: Bean's First Christmas
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014/12/beans-first-christmas.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Tuesday, December 30. Christmas this year was probably the first time in 15 years where I haven’t had to travel somewhere to be with family. It was awesome. It was also great for the Bean as she is pretty particular about her schedule, so it meant that we weren’t out of our own beds too many nights. Of course we had to scare her with Santa. We went and looked at Christmas lights. Now we have lots of noisy toys that we know how to power off. Overall, a perfect fi...

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: Our Cruise
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014/12/our-cruise.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Tuesday, December 30. So on November 14 we left for our very first cruise as a family! This was the cruise that we were supposed to take while I was pregnant (you can read about that here: http:/ lancastermountain.blogspot.ca/2013/11/a-tough-week.html. And we finally got to take it. It wasn’t the same ports of call, but it was still in November and it was still Caribbean. In the Edmonton Airport. Waiting in Line where Ellie's face says what everyone is thinking.

Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain: August 2014
http://lancastermountain.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Quiet Thursday and the Lancaster Mountain. Thursday, August 28. Being an Instant Oatmeal Mom. So I've mentioned before that I like to wear my baby and that we're not doing Cry It Out and that I nurse my baby. These are some of the decisions that I've made on how I want to parent the wee Bean. We also use disposable diapers and didn't co-sleep. I'm also definitely going to let her eat bread and probably McDonalds. Or is my right to just choose not to attend? I hate to not participate but realistically the...
