Hamamatsu Matsuri, Part Two: Performances and Floats | Jen and Teddy in Japan

https://jenandteddyinjapan.wordpress.com/2015/05/06/hamamatsu-matsuri-part-two-performances-and-floats

Jen and Teddy in Japan. Follow our adventures in Japan! Hamamatsu Matsuri, Part Two: Performances and Floats. After seeing the kites, we walked back to the bus to go back to the station area. We saw these people dancing on the way back to the bus. Once we got back to the station, we saw many parade floats. The floats had very detailed wood carvings on them. Another of the floats. One of the float attendants stopped me and had me put on these clothes for a picture. The floats at night. May 07, 2015. You a...

Hamamatsu Matsuri Part One: Kites | Jen and Teddy in Japan

https://jenandteddyinjapan.wordpress.com/2015/05/06/hamamatsu-matsuri-part-one-kites

Jen and Teddy in Japan. Follow our adventures in Japan! Hamamatsu Matsuri Part One: Kites. Tuesday, Teddy’s friend Ryan took us to Hamamatsu to see the Kite Festival. One of the kites flying. The sand dunes in Hamamatsu were beautiful! Another photo of the sand dunes. A shot of the ocean. After seeing the beach, we walked over to see the kites up close and personal. There were tons of festival food stalls, but they were all very busy. I liked this kite, too! Festival participants resting by the kites.

Konan Fuji Matsuri | Jen and Teddy in Japan

https://jenandteddyinjapan.wordpress.com/2015/05/06/konan-fuji-matsuri

Jen and Teddy in Japan. Follow our adventures in Japan! Today, we biked to Konan to see the wisteria festival. There was a ton of food at this festival, including these cute chocolate bananas. This is called Hiroshima-yaki. These flowers were beautiful, too. These were probably the prettiest wisteria. Another shot of the same variety. Pink and purple flowers. There was a pretty lake there, too! One lady was selling art senbei. Some azaleas at the temple. I thought this planter was very cute! May 07, 2015.

Jen and Teddy in Japan. Follow our adventures in Japan! Last Sunday, Teddy and I biked to Kinkazan… a little more than 30 km one way. I sure was tired after THAT! Some sakura, this variety in particular, are still blooming. We actually returned to Kinkazan cause our friend told us there’s a squirrel village! OMG, it was so cute! They gave you these gloves and crushed peanuts to feed the squirrels. I’m not sure what type of squirrels these are… I’ve never seen anything like them! Apr 21, 2015. You are com...

Jen & Tam Down Under

Jen and Tam Down Under. Tuesday, 9 February 2010. I have a lovely new camera, thanks to Len, which is capable of taking half decent pictures of the moon - one of my first attempts above - I'll keep working on it! Exploring the delightful spider lilies beneath the mango tree on the drive. Unfortunately there's a jumping ants nest here - little did we know - we've all, Tam, Jenny and Milly, now been bitten - such are the risks of mango harvesting! Aside from the mangoes, this has been a particularly good y...

Jen and the Art of Being Me

Jen and the Art of Being Me. There is quite a lot that goes into being me. Maintaining my perspective is an art that I have managed for many years without really knowing what goes into it. The idea is that this blog is my way to look at myself objectively. Read, Think, Post at your leisure. Love. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. The Art of the Do Over. First, I am now 44 years old. Really. Truly. 44. Yikes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Trying to make it through till the end of the year. Help. No plans as of yet.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. 1 Sorry for being a jerk and not updating this recently. 2 We're leaving Mexico, stat. We're in Veracruz right now and we're getting the hell out of dodge as fast as possible. We're going to try to make the U.S. border in three days and get back to New Orleans in another two. It will probably be more like four and three, but hey man, I can dream, right? Links to this post.
