Altered Arts Magazine: Plastic Nozzle Doll
http://edie-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/04/plastic-nozzle-doll.html
Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Recently, I found this plastic nozzle at a recycle center and brought it home. The thing sat around on my workspace for about a month and then it hit me. this would make a great doll body. I also had a liquid polymer clay image transfer of a beautiful Japanese woman sitting on my workspace for awhile before I thought to put the two items together. So you see, there really is no trash, just creative art materials waiting to be put together by your imagination!

Altered Arts Magazine: So many uses for Resin; How about a Family Tree!
http://edie-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/02/so-many-uses-for-resin-how-about-family.html
Monday, February 11, 2008. So many uses for Resin; How about a Family Tree! I don't know about anyone else, but I just love to use RESIN! After the tree was cut out, I used sandpaper to smooth out all the edges. Since my piece of Plexiglas was so large, I did have to buy it from a local specialty business that does glass replacement, but you could buy yours from a hardware store. The bottle caps were then filled with RESIN! You mix the resin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, October 25, 2008. How I Created A Really Special Memory Book with a Twist! The middle eyelets were sewn through the spine with wire but the top and bottom of the pages were kept in place with jump rings. That was something I came up with as I realized I had made a blunder. still it looked really good in the end. These are the seven pages inside the book, the last page with the medal on it is the back cover of the leather book. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Altered Arts Magazine: My Creative Space
http://margert-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/02/my-creative-space.html
Friday, February 22, 2008. I know some of the the other designers have shared their spaces, so I thought I would share mine as well. In our master bedroom is this small room, which when we first looked at the house is what made me decide I wanted it. I wanted this space as my own. The thing about Venetian Plaster is that you have to apply it with a spatula, one stroke at a time, letting each application slightly overlap the other. That was easy. The hard part is that you have to sand it all. I then paint...

Friday, March 7, 2008. It is a good day to alter something! I am so glad to finally be here. So let me tell you a bit about me and how I got here. I probably took the long way here, but now that I am here; OH MY! Why did it take so long? Prior to being a paper crafter, I was a full time non-tenured professor at a Historically Black College in Nashville, TN. By training, I am an epidemiologist. As my dad would say, I count dead people for a living. I have degrees from Harvard, MIT, and Rutgers. I have bee...
