http://kathleen-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 19, 2008. I recently had the chance for a play day with three of my art buds. Aside from the red wine with flowers in it and the yummy lunch, we made ART. Yeeehaaaaa! Project fabric paper commence! Ann, Diane and Wendy - making art fun. Some of the completed fabric papers drying. I can't seem to get away from RED! Except for when it comes to wisteria images. Love the stripy result in this one. 5 Spray selected areas with inks of your choice. We mainly used Adirondack Colorwash Inks. The b...

Altered Arts Magazine: December 2007

http://kathleen-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Wednesday, December 12, 2007. On my workbench today. Some of you will know I am a bit of a crazy multi-art-tasker. I think it stems from hating to wait! I probably have somewhere in the vicinity of 15-20 CURRENT projects. Occasionally it gets overwhelming and I will have a full on finishing blast and complete a bunch before starting something new again. Its no wonder I have to have a major clean up session after that kind of carry on :). I am always drawn to texture, at the moment I am really exploring h...

Altered Arts Magazine: Plastic Nozzle Doll

http://edie-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/04/plastic-nozzle-doll.html

Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Recently, I found this plastic nozzle at a recycle center and brought it home. The thing sat around on my workspace for about a month and then it hit me. this would make a great doll body. I also had a liquid polymer clay image transfer of a beautiful Japanese woman sitting on my workspace for awhile before I thought to put the two items together. So you see, there really is no trash, just creative art materials waiting to be put together by your imagination!

Altered Arts Magazine: So many uses for Resin; How about a Family Tree!

http://edie-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/02/so-many-uses-for-resin-how-about-family.html

Monday, February 11, 2008. So many uses for Resin; How about a Family Tree! I don't know about anyone else, but I just love to use RESIN! After the tree was cut out, I used sandpaper to smooth out all the edges. Since my piece of Plexiglas was so large, I did have to buy it from a local specialty business that does glass replacement, but you could buy yours from a hardware store. The bottle caps were then filled with RESIN! You mix the resin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://edie-alteredarts.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-i-created-really-special-memory.html

Saturday, October 25, 2008. How I Created A Really Special Memory Book with a Twist! The middle eyelets were sewn through the spine with wire but the top and bottom of the pages were kept in place with jump rings. That was something I came up with as I realized I had made a blunder. still it looked really good in the end. These are the seven pages inside the book, the last page with the medal on it is the back cover of the leather book. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Altered Arts Magazine: November 2007

http://jeni-alteredartsmag.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 16, 2007. Thanks for visiting my blog. This is so exciting - to have a place to share all my artistic finds and experiments. Why do I make all this crazy art? My artwork is about texture and color; I produce work to draw the viewer into the piece, calling out to be touched and encouraging the viewer to interact with it in some way. That is why I love altered books; the only way to fully appreciate an altered book is by holding it and looking through it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Thursday, November 6, 2008. Fused Glass (In response to Clara's Challenge). I had to think long and hard about this challenge. “Let the words be in your writing; let the art be drawn by you; only use embellishments made by your own hands.” I haven’t really drawn much lately. I have been trying to l. Them in a kiln. I have even been making my own glass embellishment. It is always a surprise on exactly how it will look when it comes out of the kiln.
