TWD: Finnish Pulla « jennrag

https://jennrag.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/twd-finnish-pulla

Just another WordPress.com site. This week our recipe was a holiday treat! A lovely loaf of cardamom-scented bread – not too buttery or eggy. Some shaped their loaves into a festive wreath tied with a bow; I opted for small braided loaves – perfect for gift-giving! I oiled a large piece of parchment paper and my hands for shaping the breads. No stickiness at all! Our host, Erin’s blog. This entry was posted in Baking. November « 2012 « jennrag

https://jennrag.wordpress.com/2012/11

Just another WordPress.com site. Monthly Archives: November 2012. Tuesdays with Dorie: “Butt”ermilk Crumb Muffins. These muffins were quick, easy, and delicious – though somewhat depressed. How is it that everything I bake deflates, crinkles, puckers, or recedes? I follow directions, I swear that I do, but my muffins resembled navels – all innies it’s true! It’s unnatural I say. How they overflowed and refused to budge from their tins. So I sliced the tops off, mutilating the delicate crumb.

Tuesdays with Dorie: Blueberry Nectarine Pie « jennrag

Just another WordPress.com site. Tuesdays with Dorie: Blueberry Nectarine Pie. This Blueberry Nectarine Pie is a blue ribbon winner! The recipe can be found on the websites of this month’s hosts: Liz, http:/ thatskinnychickcanbake.blogspot.com/. And Hilary, http:/ manchegoskitchen.typepad.com/. Instead, which uses all butter. Two sticks worth.I used my new food processor to make the dough – a Cuisinart 9-cup, literally out of the box (Happy Mother’s Day to me! It felt like 20 minutes and my beautiful fru...

Just another WordPress.com site. Tuesdays with Dorie: Gingerbread Baby Cakes. If you are looking for a unique gingerbread recipe with adult flavors – look no further. This complex taste offers notes of coffee, molasses, and cocoa with the snap of ginger. Find the recipe at http:/ karenskitchenstories.blogspot.com/. This is a recipe that begs to be tweaked! I liked this recipe well enough to play with the flavors a bit in the future to find the perfect gingerbread! This entry was posted in Baking. Notify ...

Tuesdays with Dorie: Bagels « jennrag

https://jennrag.wordpress.com/2012/10/17/tuesdays-with-dorie-bagels

Just another WordPress.com site. Tuesdays with Dorie: Bagels. When I first saw that we were baking bagels, I thought why? While preheating the oven to 500 degrees, I made my water bath of boiling water, a bit of sugar and baking soda. I took another baker’s advice and only boiled each side for 60 seconds. They came out smooth (ok maybe a few wrinkles – you know me and my wrinkled bread) and looked like bagels! This entry was posted in Cooking. Tuesdays with Dorie: Cranberry Pumpkin Bread. My family begs ...

Sophia's Sweets: TWD: French Strawberry Cake

http://sophiasbaking.blogspot.com/2012/06/twd-french-strawberry-cake.html

Monday, June 18, 2012. TWD: French Strawberry Cake. If this is your first time visiting my blog, welcome! I'm Sophia, a fifteen-year-old baker in New York City. I am beyond excited to be hosting Tuesdays with Dorie. Actually, I'm not sure what to be more excited about - that I'm hosting, or that I made a genoise. Considering that three days ago, I had no idea what a genoise even was. The bottom layer was a little tough, and I had some trouble with slicing into 3 layers, but it was delicious nonetheless&#...

A Lovely Lemon-y Loaf | rachel bakes on tuesdays

https://rachelwegs.wordpress.com/2012/04/17/a-lovely-lemon-y-loaf

Just another WordPress.com site. Rachel bakes on tuesdays. A Lovely Lemon-y Loaf. 8220;A lovely ladies purse” (spoken in a high Cockney accent)…I am not certain why that phrase came to me as I sat down to write this blog but as I say “A lovely Lemon Loaf”aloud, it reminds me of some obscure dialogue in some forgotten movie-so onward! Today is a beautiful southern California day- sunshiney and bright, the air is cool at 7 am. Wishing all of my baking friends “A Lovely Lemon-y Loaf! I enjoyed the taste.

Champagne Supernova Naan-sense | Trumping the Tart

https://trumpingthetart.wordpress.com/2012/06/05/champagne-supernova-naan-sense

A tale of tasty trials. This week with TWD is Oasis Naan. I can’t say it was my Wonderwall, but it was definitely tasty. I am ignoring your groaning and will naan-theless press on with a recap of this tasty trial. According to instructions, we mixed the dough, stirring in the same direction, and then began to knead. The dough was supposed to become easy to handle (naan-adhesive, anyone? By now you shoulda, somehow, realized what you gotta do. We will try again, Oasis. Newer Entry →. Kind of scary 🙂.

http://amidlifeculinaryadventure.blogspot.com/2012/02/twd-white-loaves.html

A Mid-Life Culinary Adventure. One woman's journey through culinary classes and beyond. Tuesday, February 7, 2012. It's been awhile since I've blogged. A long while. There was a new dog, and then a new job, and, well, you know how it goes. I was excited to see the new book, but worried whether I would have enough time to participate. It is helpful that there are only two recipes a month. And now that I've made the first pick (hosted by the lovely Laurie. I know I've got the baking bug again. In fact both...

A tale of tasty trials. Alright, not really. As close as I will come today to an Italian escape is with my lovely cup of coffee, some delizioso biscotti, and the Italian calendar that hangs in our kitchen. But I will take a little biscotti detour any day. This baking assignment was timed perfectly with a movie we watched last night on cappuccino ( The Perfect Cappuccino. Mt Hood (placeholder for some Alaska pics from Hannah). Not sure about these little guys. No no, don’t eat yet. The biscotti was finish...

A blog to inspire. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. 8220; I’m not wise, but the beginning of wisdom is there; it’s like relaxing into —and an acceptance of—things.”. At any given moment you can accept what is. It is a choice. It becomes a choice the minute there is conflict and pain. It is then that you have awareness—your mind, your body and/or your spirit is speaking to you. It’s a choice to listen. So what is it that you need to accept? You and not because.
