Sunday, November 30, 2014. Waking up Christmas morning, the house was always filled with the smell of my great-grandmother's coffee cake (which is the most prized recipe I have and will most likely never be making its way online), along with the sweet scent of cinnamon buns. Hers were small and not at all like what you can buy at a mall food court, but they gave me a fondness for small, swirly rolls. Adapted from The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook. Just a little of what I like to cook. TWD french strawberry cake. Yep, i’m over a week late. been just. well, as a great song goes, there ain’t no cure for the summertime blues! Not much to say about this one. it was good. yummy! But, i’m still not sure if it was worth the time it took to whip the eggs and the cream. It was pretty cool to have homemade whipped cream, yum! But, it took quite a bit of arm work! I didn’t wash the whisk attachment of my mixer). Anyway, on to pics! My little strawberry thief!
