Baking Bites An award winning food and baking blog featuring recipes, tips and more. Baking How-To’s & Tips. How to Start A Food Blog. Tools & Gadgets. Self Frosting Nutella Cupcakes. July 28, 2005. Thank you Donna Hay. If you don’t know who Donna Hay. Even though I usually follow the recipes pretty strictly here in the cooking school features, I admit that I took some liberties this time. For example, I used Nutella instead of the peanut butter that was originally called for and, because of the rich...

This week’s recipe, popovers is available on Paula’s. This must have been the easiest recipe yet to date! Blend, pour, and bake. Can’t get much simpler than that. I have never had a popover before, so I really did not have any frame of reference to compare this recipe to. In the book, it says some people like the creamy inside, and some don’t, well, I did! Lisa of Tomato Thymes in the Kitchen. And Andrea of The Kitchen Lioness. Were the hosts this week, so check out their sites for the recipe. And the ta...

Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Special thanks to this week's hostesses:. Think Love Sleep Dine. Génoise. Genoese. Genovese. Unny how our French cake is actually an Italian sponge cake, n. Amed after the city of Genoa. Feeling somewhat confused and desiring the need for more more clarification (along with a baker's quick how-to), I consulted my Julia DVD for some génoise. This Baking with Julia. Special thanks to Sophia and Allison for hosting this week's recipe - visit their blogs to get the recipe. Beautiful p...

https://valschaoticlife.wordpress.com/2012/06
Just a little of what I like to cook. TWD french strawberry cake. Yep, i’m over a week late. been just. well, as a great song goes, there ain’t no cure for the summertime blues! Not much to say about this one. it was good. yummy! But, i’m still not sure if it was worth the time it took to whip the eggs and the cream. It was pretty cool to have homemade whipped cream, yum! But, it took quite a bit of arm work! I didn’t wash the whisk attachment of my mixer). Anyway, on to pics! My little strawberry thief!

Subscribe to my feed! TWD: Gingerbread Baby Cakes. This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie. Is Gingerbread Baby Cakes. And is hosted by Karen. Who has the recipe at her blog. I was excited to try these because I love gingerbread, and because I had just gotten the awesome ramekins I used for the pot pies. A couple of weeks ago. The ramekins worked perfectly for the cakes, and there was just enough batter for all six. But it just tended too far on the bitter side of things. I know everyone hates it when bloggers c...

Just another WordPress.com site. Newer posts →. Tuesdays with Dorie: French Strawberry Cake and Imperfect Genoise. No photos this time. It just wasn’t pretty here in the Ragland kitchen. Since we had just driven in from D.C. on Sunday, I opted for a Father’s Day do-over on Monday and planned a menu of herbed pork tenderloin, rice pilaf, and tarragon roasted asparagus, and of course, a French Strawberry Cake. I only made 2/3 of the strawberries and whipped cream frosting – it wouldn’t take muc...Looking f...
