The drive to Florence was easy going and took about 45 minutes from San Gimignano, but it took about 15 minutes to find the car park because of traffic and diversion. We parked at a very good spot close to the Piazza Duomo. The car park to look for is Stazione Centralle Di Santa Maria Novella (a catchy name yes? A big tick in its favour is that it’s only half-way down the hill! But on top of that, the food is really good, and because it’s not down near the beach - where all the tourists gather - it’s quite a lot cheaper. So if anyone’s ever in Positano, we recommend it:.
