Jurrugk Aboriginal Health Service was established in 1997. Jurrugk means 'coming together', referring to the collection of remote Aboriginal communities along the Gibb River Rd who are represented by the Jurrugk Aboriginal Health Service Ngallagunda (Gibb River Station), Kupungarri (Mt Barnett), Imintji, Dodnun, Kandiwel, Yulumbu and Teralantji. The Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council (KAMSC) was established in 1986. The Council was initially formed as a cooperative between the Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) and the East Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service (EKAMS now Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service (OVAHS) with membership from the then developing Halls Creek health service committee and Fitzroy Crossing community representatives. Supported Community Satellite Dialysis. Supported Community Satellite Dialysis. In 2007 WADoH provided funding for two machines to be located at the Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS). To provide haemodialysis to 4 Derby residents. This is a Supported Community Satellite Dialysis service run by 2 local health staff. This set up benefits those clients who are not suited for Home Therapies and allows them to dialyse near home.
