Paul's Blog: May 2010
http://cornerstonehpumc.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Rev Paul Rasmussen - Pastor at Cornerstone. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Wisest dude in the world once wrote: ". Where there are no oxen, the barn is empty, but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest (Proverbs 14:4)." Seems like we all want harvest. Got that part down. Also seems like we buy into the part about needing oxen to get the job done. Makes sense, too. Who wants to care for and clean up after oxen? Monday, May 17, 2010. Lessons from the Bike. Saturday was among the greatest days in my l...

Paul's Blog: Still rockin' Pong
http://cornerstonehpumc.blogspot.com/2010/05/still-rockin-pong.html
Rev Paul Rasmussen - Pastor at Cornerstone. Monday, May 10, 2010. My family was the last one on the block to get an Atari. They were revolutionary video game systems in the 70’s, but my house kept plugging along with Pong. As long as we could. Not sure why, but we were always the last to get on board with household technology. I think my mom finally sprung for a microwave in 2005. I’m still that way. My staff has encouraged me to start blogging, Tweeting. 1 I am starting this blog. I hope you’l...Hope I ...

Andrew Forrest: Worship—Old and New, Ancient and Future
http://mungerplace.blogspot.com/2010/05/worshipold-and-new-ancient-and-future.html
Monday, May 17, 2010. Worship—Old and New, Ancient and Future. 8220;Every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old” (Matthew 13:52). People often ask me, “What will worship at Munger be like, traditional or contemporary? For Easter, I attended the Cornerstone Sunrise service. As the service began, Dave Wilson, the worship leader, greeted us with the ancient Easter greeting, “Christ is Risen! I would ...

Andrew Forrest: What is our motivation?
http://mungerplace.blogspot.com/2010/05/what-is-our-motivation.html
Wednesday, May 12, 2010. What is our motivation? But, why do we want to reach new people for Jesus? What is our motivation? So, why do we want to reach people for Jesus? Because we believe that Jesus offers abundant, eternal life, and that he offers us that kind of life now! We want to reach people for Jesus because we believe that Jesus offers something of supreme importance that we cannot have without him: abundant, eternal life! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Dear friends of Munger Place Church,. Construction at the church is really moving along. For the past month, we've had a Sistine-Chapel-style scaffolding set up in the sanctuary. Click here. For pics. This has enabled the workmen to get right up close to the ceiling and work, and what they've done looks great. Also, the construction crews have set up scaffolding on the outside of the church as well, which means that the community can finally see that we mean business! Event, and...

Paul's Blog: Young Leaders
http://cornerstonehpumc.blogspot.com/2010/05/young-leaders.html
Rev Paul Rasmussen - Pastor at Cornerstone. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. I don't get it. Why doesn't the Church do a better job of identifying and developing young leaders? Why do we wait until people are 55 and "been called" into ministry before we start considering them for ministry? Or, would they go out and seek the very best talent they could find. That's exactly what they do because they know the future of their industry depends on gifted leadership. And they can't afford to wait for it to come...Paul ...

Paul's Blog: Don't wait for the introduction
http://cornerstonehpumc.blogspot.com/2010/06/just-returned-from-florida-great-family.html
Rev Paul Rasmussen - Pastor at Cornerstone. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Don't wait for the introduction. Just returned from Florida and a great family vacation. Nothing better than a cross-country jaunt with the wife and kiddos. I'm all about family time and family talk, but I must say, whoever invented the car DVD player should win some kind of Nobel Prize. And whoever invented the wireless DVD headphones should win two. That, and the gift of the Holy Spirit? I went to a Jackson Browne. Show once, got the...
