Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Change is in the air. So after the initial diagnosis, I had the opportunity to go down and spend a couple weeks in the new Regional Medical Office in South Africa, and that was fantastic, and I'll tell you about that later. Kelly's Africa Blog: August 2009

http://www.kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 8, 2009. Village of Waiting by George Parker/Packer (we didn't have this one and the last name is questionable). Nine Hills of Nambonhaha by Sarah Erdman (the last name is right on this one, but I couldn't read my own handwriting, so the name of the village might be wrong. Whoops.). Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Look, it's me and Heath. We so pretty. This isn't my picture, it is Caitlin's. So, yes, the new stage has been here for almost a month! Hippos (=Mali in Bambara). The contents of th...

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. So, yes, the new stage has been here for almost a month! Except we seem to be having a tomato rot thing going on, and a caterpillar problem. Boo caterpillars. But I'm growing container potatoes, which is fantastic, and they are really starting to come up now! I'll describe the process in detail sometime, because it is amazing. But I feel it deserves some pictures, and it is raining outside right now, so I'm not going to go out and take them. Later, though. Susan in the Sahara.

Friday, July 10, 2009. So we are excited about them getting here, but it turns out that organizing and preparing for a training like this is a HUGE ordeal, and we have been working our little fingers and other things off since I got back from America. Hopefully we are ready for them. And if we aren't, hopefully they are forgiving. I did get to go back to my site for about a week during all this, and it was nice to be back. It actually wasn't great, because our well ran dry. A manye dat! The contents of t...

Kelly's Africa Blog: February 2009

http://www.kellysafricablog.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Saturday, February 28, 2009. Quick body removal, and I think the little girl cat doesn’t know he’s dead and is looking for him. She keeps climbing up on me and howling really loudly in my face. Poor baby. By the way, that's not him dead, that's him when he was waking up from a nap and rolling off of my bed. On being back in Koury. Anyway, about day three New Dinosaur Face discovers that, indeed, ITS FUN TO BE ALIVE! Saturday, February 14, 2009. Happy Valentines Day, Kelly! 160;     Mom and Dad.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Well, tomorrow is the day. I am finally moving out to site. Internet access will be scarce, but CELL PHONE RECEPTION IS AMAZING. If you need my digits, call my folks or my siblings, someone should be able to get it to you. I think facebook is also sporting the digits. I am going to be lonely. so call me! My closest volunteer is at least 60 km away. So hopefully, I'm crossing my fingers, that Nyamina hosts as many awesome people as Kabe did. Sunday, September 14, 2008. One of ...

http://audtravels.blogspot.com/2009/07/so-farso-good.html

Monday, July 20, 2009. So Far.So good". The following day we had a debriefing with all of the environment trainers to talk about what went well, what could go better, etc. I told Yacouba that I would extend for a third year if he would throw me in that village. So I might not be coming home anytime soon :). (No plans seriously made). Needing a motto to kind of sum up this past year. Sum up how I really have been feeling about this past year, but never had the words spit out right in front of me:. The Pos...

Monday, July 14, 2008. Last day before Homestay. I got my typhoid and rabies shots today. Took 'em like a champ. I wore my taafe today. like a champ. I was able to keep it up, no buttons/zippers etc. Its all about the rolling. I got to try the whole sit and eat with my right hand thing (Malians believe left hands are dirty and really shouldn't be used for eating or greeting. I agree) I was doing ok. My host rep made fun of me because I was taking small bites. Sorry, this entry is a little scattered. ...

Then I went to Memphis, TN, to visit the Wards:. And Kristi and I did a 1/2 marathon together (and then United lost my luggage on the way home):. Kevin learned to cuddle:. In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is. Yogi Berra. Thursday, May 3, 2012. The almost last one. It’s true; I took what is hopefully my last test this morning and have no more classes to attend. It’s bittersweet because I’m excited to be done with classes but will definitely miss my friends from the program. I start working full-time with Mitchell on the 14. Anyway, I hope you guys have enjoyed hearing about my times with the MBA program. Feel free to hit me...

A Leap of Faith

A Leap of Faith. Wednesday, December 14, 2011. As we all hugged bye, it was so refreshing to be told that over and over again and some of the interns even told me that if we didn't get the chance see each other again in this life, they would see me in Heaven. What a heart-warming statement to hear! The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. - Numbers 6:24-26. The jeeps had a wonderful trip as well!
