Knit Spastic: October 2008
http://knitspastic.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Thursday, October 30, 2008. It's rare that I see a pattern, think, "right, I'll knit that! And have the yarn, and then go, and cast on. By rare, I mean it's never happened before. Until this weekend, when I saw Knitty's Surprise - Venus. I love it. Love it. Like, I still don't really do it. But this was a special case. The yarn, that is, was on special. I walked out with a 10-pack of yarn. So far I've knit an Odessa hat out of it...
Knit Spastic: November 2008
http://knitspastic.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Friday, November 21, 2008. I have mixed emotions about it. A) I'm thrilled to be done with it, I'd originally intended this to be finished a couple weeks ago but what with exams and life it just got put on hold (with all other knitting and sewing projects). C) I think part of my feelings with this is coloured by the photos of me in it - somehow I hadn't realised I'm that big. But, meh, oh well. Effect my knitting of it. I'm still tr...

Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Sunday, January 06, 2008. The Knitting, The Bitching. This post has two parts. I'm summarising now so that those only interested in skimming can skip whatever part you prefer. There's the knitting - which is, well, knitting. And there's the bitching. Consider it like a one-sided stitch-n-bitch. I frogged what I had of Justify. The bad news is that I only have about six inches done. All of us put vast amounts of ourselves into our kn...
Knit Spastic: December 2008
http://knitspastic.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Friday, December 26, 2008. Running behind on life. I stole the title phrase from a fellow blogger friend of mine. It fits perfectly at the moment. That massive list of gifts I intended to make. Yeah, it didn't happen. But overall, on the 'right side' it's not too bad. Even without blocking. Socks for hubby. Didn't get done. Didn't get started. Looked longingly at the wool a few times though. Links to this post. But then I had a devi...
Knit Spastic: July 2007
http://knitspastic.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Over the weekend I cast on three projects in the space of two days. Two of those projects got finished shortly after - a small sized soaker. In plain white merino, which I'll be dying whenever I next have some vinegar in stock. And the tartan socks:. I also started a pair of size 12m longies. For a friend, as part of a swap. So, tonight as usual, I sat down to knit. Except I'm sick of longies. Debbie Bliss Ju...

New Pattern: Stripy Stashbuster Vest. At our place: the garden. May 12, 2012. When my parents in law came to stay, the first round of trimming and taking out happened – a feat repeated when my sister visited – are you sensing a theme here? The weekend after the garden got replanted we also got given a huge load of mulch, so had to race out and get plants for along the driveway which we had denuded of old, ugly shrubs, falling down trees, and ancient stumps. Looks sooo much better now. Feed for this Entry.

Even the cat is ginger! Family, crafting, learning, growing. Sunday, December 14, 2008. Today I stayedd in my pj's, didn't shower, nor do my hair or even wash my face. I spent the day making this for a friends little girl. Getting my boy to model this for me cost me the promise of a treat tomorrow. It just looked so wrong on him. Must be the boyish frame or the way he stands or something! Saturday, December 6, 2008. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Made from my home dyed wool (bendigo). I can't even begin to t...

Even the cat is ginger! Family, crafting, learning, growing. Sunday, November 30, 2008. Our day at the beach. What a day. So exhausted. Taking 3 kids and all their changes of clothes and drinks and nappies etc is full on. I felt like a pack mule. The kids had a real blast. They played in the fountains, splashed in the surf, scored a pony ride and an icecream. C3's first pony ride. Nana got a great photo of the kids sitting on the camel. It's the easy life for some eh Mr H? The big kids with their dad.

Knitsox | Where I occassionaly write about various obsessions, including knitting and the Red Sox.
December 2, 2010 · 7:49 pm. Vitamin D – Bring it On. Time for my twice yearly blog post. Seriously, I need to do better. May 25, 2010 · 9:01 pm. Oh my goodness. It has been so long since I’ve posted that I forget my wordpress login. It only took a few guesses for me to hack back into my account. Very embarrassing, for so many reasons. January 28, 2010 · 8:32 pm. Driving home tonight, I listened to the NPR story. It made me a little sad, and also a little nostalgic for the joy found in summer reading lists.

Then I saw this pattern for Campfire Socks. Much more interesti...

Projects, thoughts, stash envy, contemplations, and all things knitting. Sunday, February 28, 2010. It's been awhile since I've posted here, but I've been busy! Most recently my big project has been editing (and re-editing, and re-hashing, and scrapping, then editing again.) my longies pattern. I put it on hold for awhile over the New Zealand summer. but as winter is fast approaching I figured the timing was perfect to get it done and published once and for all. Links to this post. Just another WordPress.com site. March 8, 2014. Edith Wharton’s Roman Fever: A Short Story with Knitting. For International Women’s Day 2014 March 8. I’m no English Major, but I did complete what we high school sophomores gleefully dubbed Intro Lit Anal. It seems to me that the short story by Edith Wharton, Roman Fever, is a particularly female story, and one ripe for analysis. And it contains knitting. Here, I wax poetic in my amateur literary analysis: then, as now, knitting symbolized a harmless hobby...
