Adventures in Knitting: June 2016
http://knittingknewbie.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2016. I decide I needed another Hitchhiker. In my life. Having knit my first Hitchhiker. Last year, and having worn it frequently, I decided I needed another for variety sake. I'm over my Hitchhiker itch for this year.maybe another for 2017? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Knitting Websites I Love. Visual Yarn Guide - Printable PDF. Simple theme. Powered by Blogger.
Adventures in Knitting: July 2015

Friday, July 31, 2015. Adventures in Sock Making - The Well-Heeled Edition. So far in my knitting adventure I have only knit socks cuff down. Some day I may try toe-up, but for now, I'm happy as a cuff down knitter. I have. Been testing out different heels though. So far I have tried a standard heel flap and gusset using Susan B. Anderson's tutorial. And am almost finished a pair with a strong heel. My very first socks were large, worsted weight and knit based on this awesome tutorial. My current in-prog...

Tuesday, September 29, 2015. A Visual Guide to WPI. I recently discovered this item while reading a Knitty. It's basically a quick visual reference to check yarn WPI while spinning to ensure your getting the weight you want. However, I noticed a lot of comments here and there that its a good quick check when determining yarn weight of an unknown yarn rather than actually wrapping and counting. Since I thrift a lot of yarn and a lot of it has no label, this would speed up my identification process. They s...
Adventures in Knitting: Matchy Matchy

Wednesday, September 28, 2016. I knit my second pair of Align Mitts. This summer and they turned out exactly as I wanted. I made them slightly shorter in the cuff and fingers which suit me better than the longer version. The yarn I used was Meilen. Weit Magico II by Lana Grossa. In the overly descriptive colorway 3513. It's a beautiful yarn to work with although it is a single ply so it can be a bit splitty. The colours flow like the caribbean - hues of oceans and beaches. Zigs and Zags Hat.
Adventures in Knitting: August 2015

Friday, August 28, 2015. Web Stumblings - YarnSub.com. But there are not a lot of resources that I found which actually show you how yarns compare. Ravelry has its database of yarn. In which you can manually search for a yarn with similar parameters. You select the parameters, search through each yarn and compare. This is very useful but can be time consuming. Then I found this site:. Check this out. I entered Loops and Threads Charisma. Is that not awesome? Try it out; you won't be sorry. I have noticed...

Knitting Kneedles
Monday, April 10, 2006. So, for those who still read my boring mostly pictureless blog, I'd like to ask you if you can change your site for me to http:/ knittingkneedles.typepad.com/romiettah/ as I have moved to typepad. I sitll want you to read it though! I promise, once I'm no longer pregnancy-ridden and what not :). Posted by Tracey @ 7:09 PM. Tuesday, March 28, 2006. Anyway, that's all for now. Have a great day everyone :). Posted by Tracey @ 11:22 AM. Sunday, March 26, 2006. On a job well done!

Friday, October 10, 2008. Baby Hat #2 Completed. Originally uploaded by missizii. Maybe I shall only give one baby hat per colorway, and keep the others for future hatless babies. So I have finished two baby hats, albeit in the same colorway. How many hats does a baby need? The hat pattern claims that this hat will fit (with the brim turned down) for quite a while. How long do babies wear hats nowadays? Posted by Elizabeth at 7:49 AM. Thursday, October 09, 2008. First Baby Hat is completed. This is my pu...

Trendy Knits by Serenity | Just another WordPress.com weblog
Trendy Knits by Serenity. You won’t believe. Don’t I feel Special. I’m pretty much a tard. I cast-on for the loose socks today, and I take extra care in doing it right, gauging, and making sure the scrap yarn, as called for in the pattern, was as close in weight/thickness to the working yarn as possible. I was meticulous. And what do I do? Cast-on 20 sts instead of 21. But I’m going to keep working the pattern with 20 cause I don’t think it’s a HUGE deal. Is it? Except instead of doing the short ribbing ...

knittingknewbie | Frogging Faster than a Speeding Bullet
Frogging Faster than a Speeding Bullet. Professional Procrastinator, at Your Service. July 11, 2014. So remember the other day when I said I was going to ride that wave of completion straight thru some of my many works in progress? Yeah, so… not really feeling it anymore. So instead of my cowl stuff, I grabbed a random project bag from the top of my yarn basket, assuming that if there was stuff a bag, it was something I needed to finish – it didn’t really matter what the project was. I still haven’...

Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Where have I been? It's been a long time. I have not felt the inspiration to blog as I should even though I have been knitting up a storm. Blame it on nothing. But today I put my Twitter feed up on my blog, so at least there will be new content. I think I may be coming back from my depression. That's what this has been about - the non-participation I mean. I have other ideas to kickstart myself too. You'll be hearing from me. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Friday, July 18, 2008.
