No White Christmas for Us | Knitting Knewbie

https://knittingknewbie.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/no-white-christmas-for-us

Frogging faster than a speeding bullet…. No White Christmas for Us. It’s still perfect, just without the snow. In fact, my dad said that instead of shoveling, maybe he’d take Max and Alex out and show them his new lawnmower. Seriously, there is no snow. None. There were flurries on Saturday, but only enough to make one asymmetrical little ice ball for Max. No snowmen will be constructed this year…. We’re still having fun. And I’m still trying to finish my Christmas knitting. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Frogging faster than a speeding bullet…. Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve moved my blog to http:/ www.knittingknewbie.com. Yep, my very own little slice of the interwebs! All of the old content has come with me, and I’m getting a little better about updating. Please update your bookmarks (if you have them), and stop by to say hello! No White Christmas for Us. We’re still having fun. My mom collected black walnut hulls throughout the fall, and this morning we’re dying wool. Now that t...

Happy Thanksgiving! | Knitting Knewbie

https://knittingknewbie.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/happy-thanksgiving

Frogging faster than a speeding bullet…. This year, I am thankful that my lovely mother-in-law is hosting Thanksgiving. I really enjoy having it at our house, but she just does it better. I am also thankful that, for reasons I still haven’t figured out, I’m already done with all the cooking/baking that I need to do for tomorrow evening’s feast. Baking the sweet potatoes so I can make…. Twice Baked Sweet Potato Poppers. Next, may I present to you. Mmmm, cranberry sauce! Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are...

I must be getting old… | Knitting Knewbie

https://knittingknewbie.wordpress.com/2011/11/22/i-must-be-getting-old

Frogging faster than a speeding bullet…. I must be getting old…. Lyon stole by Elsebeth Lavold, knit in Plymouth Yarn DK Merino Superwash. When I was a kid, I remember the adults around me marvelling about how quickly time passes, how it seemed that last Christmas had been just last week, and summer couldn’t have lasted more than a day or two, and hadn’t the new school year started yesterday? How can it possibly be Thanksgiving already? I’m not ready! But I know that I won’t have much time to knit ...

Are you panicking yet? | Knitting Knewbie

https://knittingknewbie.wordpress.com/2011/11/28/are-you-panicking-yet

Frogging faster than a speeding bullet…. Are you panicking yet? Scarf, knit using Debbie Bliss’ Angel yarn. Now that the turkey has been consumed – along with the green beans and sweet potatoes and stuffing, not to mention the pumpkin pies – we have started the stress filled countdown to Christmas. 27 days…less than four weeks…are you feeling dizzy yet? First up is “Wisp”, a very pretty scarf knit with silk/mohair yarn whose beauty belies the complexity of the pattern. A shortish scarf ca...I used Cascad...

Covered With Love: January 2011

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. Happy New Year everyone. Yes, it's true that the new year has been around for nearly two weeks already, but I find that it's best to give it a little time to feel the new year out before assuming that it will be happy. As Sherlock Holmes says, it is a capital error to theorize without data. In the meantime, I started another pair of plain socks using some wool I got several years ago from Interlacements. Covered With Love: January 2013

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. What's the value of concern? I put down $10, but that seems low from a knitters perspective. Alright, I'm back. For whatever reason, I sort of felt like I ran out of things to say a year and a half ago. Whatever the reason, I took my hiatus and now I'm back with a plan. Last year I stumbled across The Birthday Project. I'll keep track of what I've done here, so you can share my birthday with me all year long. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Covered With Love: May 2010

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. Husband was also working out in the yard after his tennis match, and while he was trimming back the ivy under the maple tree, he discovered that we have some new pets. In case it's not really clear from the picture, that is about 200 baby spiders. Click on the pictures to make them bigger. That's as close as I can get with my Point and Shoot camera. The ivy leaves are about 2.5" across, so that makes the spiders. really small. It took unt...

Covered With Love: August 2010

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. I finished the socks. The pattern is called "My Heart Beets 4U." If you look at the heel in just the right way, it is supposed to look like a beet, with the pattern on the leg forming the beet greens. I don't know that I really see it, but they are good looking socks, even if I can't see the cuteness of them. I'm glad that they're done because the beginning of the end starts tomorrow when we leave for 4 days at Kohler Andrae. Daughter and...

Covered With Love: April 2011

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. Last time I alluded to some socks that had been working on that I couldn't share yet. Well, I finally finished them and sent them off to my mother as a late birthday gift. They are made out of KnitPicks Stroll. Yarn in the Deep Waters colorway. There are a lot of cables in these socks. The pattern is Sweetheart Socks. Socks modeled by Daughter, who declared them "uncomfortable," but she is notoriously finicky about what goes on her feet.

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. For Mother's Day this year my gift was an upgrade of my MP3 player from a very old, very clunky, very small (storage wise) Zen Touch, to a brand new iPod Touch. One of the things I'm liking most about it is that I can download books from Audible.com. So while I'm waiting for Sacred Stone. To finishe downloading, I'll update you on the small amount of knitting I've gotten done. It's made with Caron Simply Soft and Lambie Pie. Life is certa...

Covered With Love: March 2011

http://coveredwithlove.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

One knitter's unending quest to cover the world with knitted love. Yes, I have been alive since the blizzard. I've mostly been working on a project that I can't show pictures of yet, but will be able to very soon. I made something that shouldn't ordinarily take a long time, but because of the persnickedyness of the pattern and the size of the wool and needles, it took me a good while to get finished. In a matter of three days I got the entire body done, as well as one of the sleeves. Old habits die hard.

Trendy Knits by Serenity | Just another WordPress.com weblog

Trendy Knits by Serenity. You won’t believe. Don’t I feel Special. I’m pretty much a tard. I cast-on for the loose socks today, and I take extra care in doing it right, gauging, and making sure the scrap yarn, as called for in the pattern, was as close in weight/thickness to the working yarn as possible. I was meticulous. And what do I do? Cast-on 20 sts instead of 21. But I’m going to keep working the pattern with 20 cause I don’t think it’s a HUGE deal. Is it? Except instead of doing the short ribbing ...

Adventures in Knitting

Wednesday, September 28, 2016. I knit my second pair of Align Mitts. This summer and they turned out exactly as I wanted. I made them slightly shorter in the cuff and fingers which suit me better than the longer version. The yarn I used was Meilen. Weit Magico II by Lana Grossa. In the overly descriptive colorway 3513. It's a beautiful yarn to work with although it is a single ply so it can be a bit splitty. The colours flow like the caribbean - hues of oceans and beaches. Zigs and Zags Hat. How about a ...

Frogging Faster than a Speeding Bullet. Professional Procrastinator, at Your Service. July 11, 2014. So remember the other day when I said I was going to ride that wave of completion straight thru some of my many works in progress? Yeah, so… not really feeling it anymore. So instead of my cowl stuff, I grabbed a random project bag from the top of my yarn basket, assuming that if there was stuff a bag, it was something I needed to finish – it didn’t really matter what the project was. I still haven’...

Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Where have I been? It's been a long time. I have not felt the inspiration to blog as I should even though I have been knitting up a storm. Blame it on nothing. But today I put my Twitter feed up on my blog, so at least there will be new content. I think I may be coming back from my depression. That's what this has been about - the non-participation I mean. I have other ideas to kickstart myself too. You'll be hearing from me. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Friday, July 18, 2008.

Fiber, feminism, fists, fuck yeah. Sunday, July 11, 2010. I can't stop knitting these fuckers! Monday, April 19, 2010. I started working on this scarf with this amazing burgundy yarn that i. Love, but can't find any more any where. i didn't have enough burgundy to finish, so i finished it with the same yarn in blue that i had left from another project. i couldn't stop knitting with it so it's pretty long, but it's amazingly comfortable. I gave it to dad. I know how to do it now! Ok, let's give this a try.

Vii and Lirin are graduating…but Kureya will be back soon! April 10, 2011 at 1:15 pm Posted in Announcements. We are so sorry for this unexpected hiatus. Lirin is graduating from college this semester, and Yaviiniia is graduating from high school. We managed to keep juggling all our balls in the air for an impressively long time, but a couple weeks ago they started all tumbling down around us and we’ve had to set a couple things aside to keep our grades from suffering.
