Jaffa quilts: March 2015
http://jaffaquilts.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Gypsy Wife QAL 2016. Tuesday, 17 March 2015. I seem to have started the year by actually beginning every project I want to complete this year (or it feels like it anyway)! Not really the best way to work, I end up making myself feel all flustered and stressed. My design wall (aka the batting stapled up on the laundry wall) reflects some of the different projects underway. I have also started hand quilting Adrianne's stars. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this but I do! 1 down, 51 to go :-). Click here to fin...

Jaffa quilts: November 2014
http://jaffaquilts.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Gypsy Wife QAL 2016. Sunday, 23 November 2014. I do love a good tote bag. Its seems I carry a lot of stuff around, particularly books and papers, so for me, a good tote bag needs to be sturdy and have handles that are a comfortable length. I have been wanting to try Adrianne. S tutorial for a while now, and finally got around to it this weekend. I used some of my very favourite fabric for this bag (Lizzie House Catnap) and the Soft and Stable that Adrianne recommended (from Stitchbird. By April Rosenthal...

Milly Made It.: Slow Sewing
http://millymadeit.blogspot.com/2015/06/slow-sewing.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. I recently ordered a handwork project. And that made me think that I should do something with the one I have had on the shelf-o-fabric since before Christmas. So it involves tracing, freezer paper, needle turn applique videos on youtube, basting and quite a bit of finger pressing. Roll on the school holidays. 5 days to go. June 28, 2015 at 8:09 PM. Looks fun - cant wait for the holidays either. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a high school teacher who likes to make quilts.

Milly Made It.: A Round Robin Starter
http://millymadeit.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-round-robin-starter.html
Friday, July 17, 2015. A Round Robin Starter. Our Monday Modern group is starting a round robin. Our first centre blocks are due at our August gathering in a couple of weeks. I thought I would get mine done while I have the head space (school hols). First, I wanted something circular but thought that would be a real pain for the next person in the round robin, so I went with curves. This hung around on the 'design wall' (ha! Milly Made It.: Prototyping for the Round Robin
http://millymadeit.blogspot.com/2015/08/prototyping-for-round-robin.html
Sunday, August 9, 2015. Prototyping for the Round Robin. Our Monday Modern group has started a round robin. I have passed on tui o'clock -. At our gathering last week, I received June's centre block. She must have a nice collection of low volume fabrics. I was keen to replicate the green flying geese-like shapes, so set out to prototype possible triangles using scrap fabrics-. I would love to see some gold or fuchsia added to this quilt in the next round. August 9, 2015 at 1:13 PM. I am a high school tea...

Jaffa quilts: If at first you do not succeed...
http://jaffaquilts.blogspot.com/2015/05/if-at-first-you-do-not-succeed.html
Gypsy Wife QAL 2016. Sunday, 10 May 2015. If at first you do not succeed. I have learnt something important over the few short years that I have been quilting. If I start something and I don't really like it, continuing on will not make it grow on me. I have been wanting to make an Irish chain quilt for a while now, and thought that a dark chain would look really dramatic with my AMH Folk Song fabric. Indeed it does look pretty dramatic. It is quite a different look but I'm much happier with it. I'm ...

Milly Made It.: Slow Sewing Progress
http://millymadeit.blogspot.com/2015/07/slow-sewing-progress.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. I have been chipping away slowly at my Botanics quilt -. Those inner curves are very tricky and those tiny holes inside the darker blue circles are even trickier! I haven't made progress with anything else. Linking up with Lee's WIP. Which I haven't done for a long time. July 16, 2015 at 12:08 PM. Oh, how I drool over Carolyn Friedlanders needle turn patterns, but needle turn somehow feels like mending rather than something enjoyable to me. Lovely WIP. July 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
