Posts Tagged ‘wine list’. Magnolia Cafe, Uptown. Thursday, November 17th, 2011. I must be missing something. We’ve been to Magnolia twice, both times on weekday evenings, and almost every table has been full, not to mention the bar stools. They’ve received one glowing review after another and, frankly, I’m a little stumped. Not every French chef thinks so, as is evidenced by many other French menus throughout Chicago. On another occasion, I ordered the truffle goat cheese raviolis, served with mushroom r...

Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Burger King - BK Burger Shots. The annoying ads for these, what's up with that? I heard some people talking about how good they were and read a messageboard discussion that was mostly praise as well, and I thought "Really? Not bad, but I don't get why I would want this when I could get a normal burger. Some people think White Castle is disgusting (and seriously, fuck you.) so I guess this is who would be buying these? Links to this post. And this, ladies and gentlemen. Is my ...

Cheap eats and great deals for those hungry college students. A Help to All Interview…. Cheap Eat$ meet Groupon →. Let’s Take a Lunch Journey. December 5, 2010. On this lunch journey I decided not to go all out on the sugar, which I might have overdone last time, and I decided to keep it under $10 as well. If you can’t recall my last adventure I went to the Bong Room. For an omelette, but then went to for high sugar count at Orange. Offers a variety of options from a breakfast menu, to sandwiches, pasta ...

People, places and all things food. Monday, April 27, 2009. Mediterranean Tuna Salad - At Last Tuna Salad I Can Eat! Saturday, while shopping up and down Chicago's Magnificent Mile - upper Michigan Avenue - I decided to dart into a nearby deli, L'Appetito. Already anticipating what the answer would be, I had decided on the corned beef sandwich. Now there goes that cute little dress I was planning on wearing up in flames (I thought)! 2 cans Tuna (6 ounces each). 2 tablespoons Red Onions, finely minced.

It was a California roll and I was in college. That first bite was so different, so unexpected, so delicious. Back then, sushi was an exotic dish. But that was a long time ago and sushi quickly became ubiquitous. It’s a pleasurable ache and I experience it every time I visit Sushi Mike. If you’ve never been to Tanoshii, stop whatever youR...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Review: Ommegang Three Philosophers. August 3, 2012. I don’t get down to that area all that often, and there were some places I was interested in going. I IMed Tim throughout the day, and finally sent him a custom Google Map of my route. This proved helpful, since on my bar crawl, I happened to be. What does this delightful story have to do with the beer in question? I’ve been meaning to drink it for a while, but haven’t for one reason or an...The beer ...

Sunday, July 28, 2013. About $17 per person. Grasping on to the remaining few straws of the freedom between fourth year of medical school and intern year, I decided to take advantage of a nice day and grab some lunch with Arif and Jeremy. We were up for a little walk and headed north into the Viagra Triangle. There's this new lobster roll spot that replaced the Ashkenaz Deli. That we wanted to check out. Da Lobsta. The Traditional Lobster Roll. Labels: 3.5 Pearls. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Each day of the...
