Mielock In Focus: December 2008
http://mielockinfocus.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 26, 2008. Labels: Lusaka and Livingstone. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. On December 28th, I am going to Africa with Dr. Jeffery Colquhoun. And a small group of his friends on a medical mission. I am very honored that Dr. Colquhoun. Has invited me to join him in helping the people of Zambia, and I recognize my fortune in being in a position to have the resources. And time necessary to do this. This blog is my attempt to share this unique experience with my family and friends.

Mielock In Focus
http://mielockinfocus.blogspot.com/2009/02/next-morning-we-began-seeing-patients.html
Sunday, February 15, 2009. The next morning we began seeing the patients. Within a couple of hours Dr. Colquhoun was doing surgeries. The patients had been notified by one page anouncements. Many traveled days by foot. Some from surrounding countries. There are less than 10 ophthalmologists in Zambia (the size of Texas). The entire porch was occupied by patients so eager to get help, that they had wated for days sleeping out side , on concrete, next to people they didn't know. Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mielock In Focus
http://mielockinfocus.blogspot.com/2009/03/outside-clinic-family-members-waited.html
Sunday, March 15, 2009. Outside the clinic, family members waited, sometimes for days. I helped made sure patients had the necessary drops and the YAG Laser (Cataract Patients) was adjusted for the doctor. We tried to keep him moving, so that we could help as many as possible. I set up and then, while Dr. Colquhoun fired the SLT Laser (Glaucoma Patients) , I adjusted the power. Labels: Mikes Experience in the Clinic. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Sunday, March 20, 2011. And Claire went off early Saturday morning to Vet-a-Visit at MSU. 160;They had fun seeing the animals. Cubby. Said his favorite was seeing a horse on a treadmill. He wasn't interested in sticking his hand inside the see-thru cow though. He got a little stuffed cow and had a personal consultation with the vet. Most kids said their animals had broken legs or sore tummies. Cubby. Sunday, March 13, 2011. Here are the pieces pinne...

Fiber Rhapsody: Steampunk Bunny
http://lisabquilter.blogspot.com/2014/03/steampunk-bunny.html
A song composed of quilts, travel, family and friends. Monday, March 10, 2014. Here is a little Steampunk bunny that I fell in love with at the Kalamazoo Show. I'm sorry I didn't note the quilter but I really appreciate her work. The whole piece was tiny,. Maybe 8 x 8" or 10 x 10". When I think of Steampunk, the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes comes to mind. My other thought is Jack the Ripper's East End of London. I haven't watched Dr Who but I think that fits this category also. This quilt is darling!

Quilting B: June 2015
http://quiltybeard.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. I have a new co-worker now, Marie Gordon. Marie seems to be a very active gardener. She started telling me back in March about "winter sowing" to start your seeds. Just put them in a container of soil and set outside until spring. So for the first time in years I decided to try starting seeds instead of just buying transplants. Here are a couple of shots of my "garden" this year. I just container garden because then I can put the plants where they get the most sun. One of the mor...

Not sure how I would go about it on the machine. Future - not very far away now-unless you're 6 years old - then it's forever! Love the quilt top. Baptist fans would be lovely. The Co...
