Quilting B: June 2015
http://quiltybeard.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. I have a new co-worker now, Marie Gordon. Marie seems to be a very active gardener. She started telling me back in March about "winter sowing" to start your seeds. Just put them in a container of soil and set outside until spring. So for the first time in years I decided to try starting seeds instead of just buying transplants. Here are a couple of shots of my "garden" this year. I just container garden because then I can put the plants where they get the most sun. One of the mor...

http://lavender-pie.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. This summer so my vine did exceptionally well. The leaves are mottled white on green thus the name Variegated Porcelain Vine. A full view of the Variegated Porcelain Vine. I made the copper pipe trellis. Close up of the berries. Although this picture is true to color, you really need to see these incredible berries in real life. Don't you just love the colors of the berries. I want jewelry made from beads in these colors. Lavender Pie: September 2010
http://lavender-pie.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. Chihuly at Meijer Garden Part Five - Final. After our refreshing lunch we ventured back outside into the heat and humidity. This last part of the tour took us along the boardwalk and the large wetland area. Enjoy the last of the Chihuly exhibit. This is one of three frog statues in the woods along the boardwalk. This is my favorite one with bug on his nose. Hey, a real turtle! The big wetlands with its green algae. Finally we found some great Chihuly art. This part of the Chih...

Friday, November 27, 2009. Thanksgiving with Xander and Jessica. H1N1 has taken its toll on many people including me several weeks ago. This past week it hit Terri, Rodney, Jackson and perhaps Madeline. Terri also has pneumonia. They are all on the mend after getting Tamiflu. But they could not be with us as planned for Thanksgiving. Grandma Dee had a smaller crowd than usual with just me, Mike, Doug, Xander. And Jessica. Jim and his family traveled to Escanaba. She is a real cutie. Had fun with Grandma ...

http://lavender-pie.blogspot.com/2010/10/quilts-on-grand-west-michigan-quilt.html
Saturday, October 2, 2010. Quilts on the Grand - West Michigan Quilt Show Part One. The machine quilting was superb. One final close up. This quilt alone was worth the visit to the show. Linda and I both want to make this Piece O' Cake pattern. This was fantastic. The quilter used silks and the colors were so intense. It also had wonderful machine quilting and embellishments. Wheels of Dots. So whimsical. I must do one of these. I think I have all the polka dot fabrics I need. And a final close up. Close...

Sunday, February 22, 2015. At rehab there were nice long hallways that I could walk. Here at home not so much, so I think the Y is my best alternative. I can also use some of the equipment. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. From the surgery 20 years ago I know surgery can really sap your stamina. But it all paid out in aces. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Saturday, March 7, 2015. Well, time is growing short. Just one week left before going back to work. On the 3rd when I went for my physical therapy I got evaluated by my therapist who decided that I didn't need the next 6 appointments and that I could continue my recovery on my own. There were some people there from the Westphalia Historical Society and they are talking about having up but maybe some time in the spring. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Quilting B: The other June trip
http://quiltybeard.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-other-june-trip_12.html
Friday, August 12, 2016. The other June trip. I have a friend from high school, Christine Hubbard, who lives in Columbus Ohio. She is always asking me to come for a visit, but the last time had to have been at least 8 years ago. This piece, made from an old sewing machine was at one of the antique malls. Very original, but maybe a waste of a good old machine. We also visited the botanical gardens in Columbus. They had Chihuli (sp) glass and a wonderful bonsai exhibit.
