Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Nine: The One Where We're Too Tired to Function.
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-nine-one-where-were-too-tired.html
Aruba, Day Nine: The One Where We're Too Tired to Function. Because we were just so dang pooped from the day before, Rick and I decided to take it easy. We knew we had appointments with people later in the day, so it was a quick visit to Boca Catalina for a few hours before we had to be real people who wear real clothes and talk to real people. Ugh. Life is hard, sometimes. Anybody want to give me money to make this a screensaver or something? While I sat on the bed trying to update this darn blog, Rick ...

Life As A LeCheminant: May 2015
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Aruba: Days Thirteen and Fourteen. I woke up feeling like death. I was so, so very sick. The cold from hell had descended upon my immune system without mercy. It was obvious I was out of commission for any and all activities for the day, and I was devastated. Once again, Rick brought food back with him. Even though I was alone for most of the day, I felt so taken care of. Rick was so sweet. That's a little rude. No, that's a LOT rude. Especially when you are still on said vacation. By the time Rick got b...

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Seven: A Really Big Haystack
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-seven-really-big-haystack.html
Aruba, Day Seven: A Really Big Haystack. The day had finally come for us to tackle Mt. Hooiberg, which in Dutch means Haystack. From far away, the name is fairly accurate. It looks just like a haystack. Up close, it looks like a pile of dead cacti and misery. Somebody looked at that dead pile of wasteland and thought, "You know what might be fun? Let's put stairs all the way up.". 587 stairs, friends. We reached the top and it was great! The view from the top was awesome. Rumor has it that on clear d...

Life As A LeCheminant: March 2015
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
March In Cell Phone Pictures. Between a wedding, family in town, a birthday, and gorgeous spring weather we just couldn't get enough! I was sad it went by so quickly. Amazingly, all of these pictures that don't deserve their own post all happened in the last week of March alone! We went to BYU's opening spring scrimmage one Friday night with Brooke and her family, and it was fun! See what I have to work with:. I post this hysterical picture of Brady? It was the weirdest thing. To top it off, I comple...

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Three: Rocks, Rocks, Donkeys, And Also More Rocks
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-three-rocks-rocks-donkeys-and.html
Aruba, Day Three: Rocks, Rocks, Donkeys, And Also More Rocks. Since I spent day two getting nice and burned exactly like my mother warned me not. Anywho, all of that boredom (and let's face it, neuroticism) really paid off. It was nice to have that little spreadsheet on hand, as it made it infinitely easier to just pick an activity and go for it! For our first non-beach outing, we went to the Casibari Rock Formations. I know, "rock formations" doesn't sound very cool, but it really was! On the left there.

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day One: The One Where I'm Super Tired, But I Didn't Cry Once! WIN!
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-one-one-where-im-super-tired.html
Aruba, Day One: The One Where I'm Super Tired, But I Didn't Cry Once! This was the countdown app on my phone for our vacation - I was insanely happy to see it at zero! Welcome, friends, to the longest day (and maybe also longest blog post/post series? Of my entire life. Let's start from the beginning, shall we? THIS IS GONNA BE FUN SORTA. We hopped on a redeye out of Provo on Tuesday. I had worked a full day (my last day! A few things you should know:. Yes, we'll go with that. Beautiful, greasy, deli...

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Ten: Selfie Overcompensation.
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-ten-selfie-overcompensation.html
Aruba, Day Ten: Selfie Overcompensation. After spending ten days in a place, there is a certain level of comfort that is unavoidable and absolutely wonderful. We felt like we had somewhat of a routine, the culture shock had pretty much all worn off, and we were just soaking up every Aruban second we had left. We really weren't ready for our trip to be in the second act already. When he was on his mission, he and his companion called it the "Pirate Castle." I have to admit, the name is sort of fitting.

Life As A LeCheminant: February 2015
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
February in Cell Phone Pictures. February rolled in as one of the most beautiful months I've ever experienced. Utah was so, so good to us and gave the easiest 60-degree-weather-everyday winter you ever did see. We welcomed February by welcoming a new house guest for the first week. She was polite and low-maintenance and had farts that literally made herself cry at one point, but it was great to have her! Oh, by the way our house guest was my sister's dog, Roxy. As per tradition, my office had their annua...

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Five: THE TURNING POINT
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-five-turning-point.html
Aruba, Day Five: THE TURNING POINT. This was my favorite day so far, and I never even saw it coming. Rick decided that we should hit up both the Spanish and the English branch, since the sacrament meeting times were flip-flopped and we would be able to make it to both. First up was the Spanish branch - aka the Oranjestad Branch, which, ironically, actually speaks Papiamento (the dialect spoken by all the Arubans). Whatever. She's reading the scripture in English. Listen! Sacrament meeting passed with muc...

Life As A LeCheminant: Aruba, Day Six: Moving Day!! And Also a New Boyfriend
http://thelecheminants.blogspot.com/2015/05/aruba-day-six-moving-day-and-also-new.html
Aruba, Day Six: Moving Day! And Also a New Boyfriend. We woke up earlier than normal so we had time to pack up the rest of our stuff and head to our new hotel! We had packed up the car and checked into Paradera Park before we had even had breakfast. We were pretty dang excited, in case you couldn't tell. We walked into our room and everything was perfectly pristine. All we had to do now was unpack and settle in! But they are a completely accurate depiction of the room we stayed in! TV, wifi, AC, oh my!
